check everything the fet connected to, there are usualy resistors that burn.
also, was the fet's GATE pin shorted to the other pins?
if it was then the control circuits will be damaged.

the other thing to think about is why the fet died,
i would check the bridge rectifier and remove & test the main capacitor.
last time i saw a bad fet, the main cap had leaked under the can onto the board.

This big cap is good it reads 105 uf ESR 0.26, I'm not shure about the big resistor which reads 0.4 hom

sounds o.k. it's probably inline with the gate pin.

if you can't fix this unit:
It's a standard Flex ATX PSU, sometimes you can find similar things as 1HU server thingys...

I'm actually wondering if at last this power supply could be changed by a generic if not can be saved.

I mean this power supply has the same voltages and connectors as a generic one. Just to find the way to Short the height of the tallest components that must be the heatsinks.

I read an article that talk something about feeding the output whit an other power supply in order to check the secondary section or the regulated low voltage. Is it posible to do without damaged components?

is not it has a big black crack in the hidden side.

however I notice that all semiconductors in the secondary side are shorted beter no to follow with this one.

And I better check on the other PS, is the same model the problem almost the same just the 5vsb are on and when I pluged the atx tester all voltages are on for about half a second.

OLD Socket 478 custom bracket + NEW generic cooler
                  by BleedCap
I already posted this on vogons.
Its a 3d printed custom bracket for socket 478.
I used this AM4 bracket as a base design.
Its to be use with cheap generic clip based cpu cooler.

                  Reason for doing this is:
                  - Its hard to get/find a good copper base cooler. Even if you find one, the price is ....
                  - New generic cooler is cheaper and can use bigger fan (less noise)

I tested the bracket with cheap chinese horizontal cooler + fan taken from CM hyper 212 evo.
The processor that I was using is P4 2.4Ghz prescott....

burned mosfet wich has written on top "I6 GUE 8v1507"
                  by Caly411
Hi, Im having a similar problem with my Acer Nitro 5 AN517 52, took it to repair and they said that the problem was a burned mosfet wich has written on top "I6 GUE 8v1507".
There is written PQB12 on the motherboard right next to it.
Does anyone know if there is soemthing similar I can buy to replace it with?
Seems impossible to find theidentical mosfet online.

                  Removing custom logo Lenovo
                  by volinakis
                  1. Download latest bios update for your laptop model. (xxxxxxxx.exe)
                  2. Double click on .exe and choose "Install" and NOT "Update". It will unpack .exe in C: \Drivers\Flash\xxxxxxxx
                  3. Go to folder and launch winuptp.exe with cmd.
                  4. A window will appear announcing that there is a custom logo installed and if you want to keep it or not. Click "No". It will restore factory default image....

                  by volinakis
Hi, I'm stuck in removing custom logo from T590 and replace it with original one. I did try to remove it with bios update but no joy. Also i did try with LMU but there is no option for replacing logo. Any ideas are welcome, thank you!
