    Help with identify part

    Hi all,

I am looking for someone who can help me with the description for the part in the picture. It is a powersupply for a Imac 24 inch 2008. It is burnt and i cannot read the text anymore. No schematic available as far as i know.

    Thanks for the help!

        Re: Help with identify part

That specific package is used almost exclusively for MOSFETs and diodes in compact power supplies and laptops. Since it is far away from the transformer output, I'd rule out diode.
See if the similar device to the left of the blown one is readable, it's probably the same part number as it.
If it isn't, you could try any N-channel MOSFET in a TO-252 package that has 30V+ Vds rating and a low Rds On (<50mOhm) An example part # stocked on Mouser is SQD50N04

Thanks for the responds. The other identical looking part is not the same. I can read the first number on the burnt part and that is different.

I was hoping somebody has a powersupply like this lying around and could read the part description.

I personally think it is a mosfet used for switching the powerline.
