Thank you for the answers guys! I've found the own manual of the MX-DS1 and it recommends 80PSI which is about 5,5 Bar.I've tried it with a refrigerator compressor and its worked fine.The only thing left now is to find an air supply with 5,5 Bar adjustable pressure

Yes I know that it it needs an external device.(Only the SP440 series has built in pump)But my question is vacuum pump or air compressor?Leave a comment:

Metcal MX-DS1 desoldering handpiece "shop air"?
I've just bought this desoldering gun for my MX-500 system,and the PDF says it requires "shop air" to desolder with it.I am hungarian and my dictionary has no result to "shop air" so I dont know what it means... Does it mean compressed air? Or I need a vacuum pump to normally work with it?
