    Powerocks Super Magicstick 2800mAh

Works from time to time, had to peek inside.

    Battery is a cmicr18650f8 rk, 2800mAh 3.7V - don't know who made it.

    Lithium battery charger is a CN3062 - 500mA
Mosfet is a Dual N-Channel Enhancement Mode MOSFET

    Blue light = 70% – 100%
    Green light = 30% – 70%
    Red light = 1% – 30%

Going to resolder the small board and see if it works.

      heres the mfr.

      powerocks too
if it were mine i would lightly flux everything and reflow with an airpen.
had an ebl with 3x18650 given to me to recycle and the tp4056 wasnt soldered well.
it would thermal trip in about 15 seconds.no wonder the 3 panasonic 3400's in it never charged!

        Thanks for the teardown pics.

On ebay, I know there are a lot of fake nimh AA cells where the label says 3000mAh, but when tested it is more like 700mAh.

I wonder if the 2800mAh cell you found inside is really more like 600mAh?

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Resolder the top two boards did not help.
Going to resolder the lower button board too.

I have no way to test batteries capacity but my phone is a Htc One S with a 1650 mAh battery - I have no problems recharging my phone from 20% to 80% and then from 20% to 60% on one Magistick charge.

i have a cubic shitload of their 2200 mah 18650 from new laptop packs that were bought by some school then given up for salvage.
they are at least decent cells that meet spec.

[HELP] Acer AN515-55 (LA-J871P Rev: 1B) – Board won't power on after GPU investigation – Suspecting Super I/O or PCH

              Hi everyone,

I'm working on an Acer Nitro 5 unit with the following specs:
              • Motherboard: LA-J871P Rev: 1B
              • Model: Acer AN515-55-59MT
              • S/N: NHQ7JAL00403906A973400
              • SNID: 03902728734

              Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
              by Jane
I tried to use this method:

              Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the

MOSFET controlled table light help please
              by Nevillet
              Hi All,

I am working on a Mickey Mouse novelty table light which is powered by an external 24V 3A AC supply.

It was DOA and when I opened it I could see evidence of heat around the larger bridge rectifier consisting of 4x 1N5404 diodes. The internal 5A fuse had blown as had one of the diodes.

I replaced the diode and the fuse which brought it back to life with the exception of the 24V DC supplied lamp which is switched with a MTP60N06 N-channel MOSFET via an opto-isolator.

When the light switch (single contact button) is operated the lamp makes...

Lithonia Lighting versus Light of America Compact Fluorescent product quality
              by sam_sam_sam
I have a Lithonia Lighting 65-Watt Gray Hardwired Compact Fluorescent

I also have back when Light of America had these light bulbs available for yard lights

The issue with Light of America was the blast boards had all most certain board failure while bulbs hardly ever fail

While the Lithonia lighting fixture has all most certain bulb failure

So I have modified the Lithonia lighting fixture to accept the Light of America light bulb and see how long this will last

I have only had this light fixture for not more than a year if it...
