Corsair HX1200 connected w EVGA molex cable, 12V pin back feeded to 5V. Anybody has experience in this damages repair?

The power supply is 2020 Corsair HX1200 modular power supply.

Cause of damage: I connected EVGA molex cable to the Sata port and test it with a ATX tester. Since the pin out on the EVGA is wrong, result in the 12V pin shorted to the 5V pin, in the 12V back-feeded to the 5v port.

Damage: Power supply shorted out, shut off itself internally, damaged the 5v or 3v rail or the monitoring circuitry. The self protection circuit shut off the power supply when power up because it detected some abnormal/defect. I waited a few minutes, let it self reset then try to re power up. It try to power up, fan spin up but immediately shut of. When turn on the power switch immediately on a 2nd attemp, it no respon at all, the fan not spin up anymore. Waited a few minutes and try it again, the same behavios happen, fan spin up and shut off on 1st attemp only.

Help? Seek advice or help from someone who has experience with similar damages or repair this model PSU. What need fix?

    As already mentioned:
    The fan twitch tells you
    A: The primary is o.k to 95%
B: The supervisor IC in the secondary shuts the PSU primary side down, because there is a problem with one of the voltage rails. I am guessing that there is a voltage missing. The supervisor IC is a WT7518 and it has two of them for one reason or another. The 3.3V and the 5V rail are coming from a DC to DC converter. The 12V rail is regulated using MOSFETs…And here I think that somewhere the problem is.

We really need straight shot, high resolution pictures from top and bottom. Your other PSU in the other thread sounds like it has the same problem.

Burned out PSU Corsiar HX1200 and NZXT C850, connected to wrong Molex/Sata cable from EVGA.
      by coinwizx
      Hi,
Anybody has experience repair PSU burned out due to connect to EVGA molex/sata cables. I know the cable is not compatible (i got them mixed up), but I though i can connect it and use a PSU tested to find out which is the wrong sata/molex cables. As soo as I pluged in the powered molex cable to the PSU tester, the power supply short out, and will not turn on anymore. After the incident, the PSUs (both HX1200 and C850) try to power on and shut itself off immediately. The ATX PSU tester survice the short circult, still working perfectly. Anybody know if it's an easy fix or know which parts...

Random Shutdowns/Startup Failure with Corsair SFX 450
      by h0m3w0rk
      Hello everyone,

I'm encountering a frustrating issue with my Corsair SFX 450 power supply. After an undefined period of operation, my PC will either suddenly restart or, in some cases, it won't start at all until I disconnect the power cable and reconnect it. This erratic behavior occurs intermittently, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact conditions under which it happens.

For context, I have tested the PSU using an electronic load at 150W, and under those controlled conditions, it functions flawlessly. This leads me to...

EVGA RTX2070 Weird power stage/I2C issue
      by onix331
Asking here as a last ditch effort:

GPU: EVGA RTX2070 Black Edition XC Gaming

A few weeks ago i noticed a burning electronics smell in my room, after a bit of confusion i realized that the RGB LED light of my GPU was out. Weird.
I didn't think much of it until i tried to look at the power usage in HWinfo, i then noticed that the entry "GPU Power (Total)" was gone entirely, it would also not boost above 1410Mhz.

Looking further i noticed that "Performance Limit - Utilization" was always at "Yes". The card did perform mostly...
