Sanken PSA10982J M Exploded Primary Capacitor

This PSU comes out of a Panasonic TC-20LA2 from around 2004. I repaired the inverter board by changing out one of the SOIC MOSFETs and a fuse a while ago thanks to information posted on this forum, but today, while in use, smoke started coming out of the set.

Upon disassembly, this is what I found:

Any ideas what could have caused this premature failure? I *think* the TV was still working when the set was smoking, but I'm not 100% sure.

Power surge? Fake cap? Rectifier problems?

is the board dark under it or is that a shadow?
      overvoltage like a high neutral?

Nope no power surge AFAIK, and that's just a shadow...

Ok, I got a confirmation that the set was working while the smoke was coming out of the capacitor... I'll probably replace the bridge rectifier anyways with a better brand just to be safe eventhough it does not measure short as far as I can tell. Anyone have any theories?

internal short in the cap or a failing diode in the bridge?
I've had diodes test good on the LV that a DMM uses but goes short on mains voltage.

              Maybe just age and heat?

Could also be a random failure, which does happen once in a while.

Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition
                by MORETTIGIAN
                Title:
Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition

                Description:
During maintenance on an RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition, I found a capacitor lying on my desk after reassembly.
I did not notice it detaching, so I am unsure of its original location on the PCB.

                Procedure performed:
                - Removed backplate
                - Cleaned heatsink and PCB with isopropyl alcohol + soft ESD brush
                - Reapplied thermal compound
                - Reassembled card

                Observed behavior after reassembly:
                - GPU powers on and operates normally under...

                RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor
                by Prolog
Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

Please help me find 7 pin smd ic 901 part number in Delta DPS-300AB-76 LED Display Power Supply
                by Gentian
I have a 5V 55A led Delta power supply with no output. I found this 7 pin IC 901 damaged as in the photo. All other elements look ok. I checked and every other surrounding componets diodes, resistors and capacitors look ok. I have 2 identical power supplies removed from a led wall which have the same defect with this ic burned but not a working one for reference. I founded by measurements that pin 7 goes to positive hot 450V 220uF electrolytic capacitor primary side. Pin 1, 2, 3, 4 connected together to pcb cooper trace. These four pins goes to negative side of 10uF 50V electrolytic capacitor...

SYMSI70 gas heater, TOP247Y exploded, power supply, snubber network
                by hikomalek
Hello, I have a SYMSI70 gas heater board, which has issues with its primary side power supply, controlled by TOP247Y chip.
When I replace a TOP247Y it explode in 1 second. I have desoldered transformer and measured a winding ratio, so transformer looks like OK.

                Transformer:

                |Info| Primary | Aux | AB | CD|
                |-|----------|----------|-|-|
                |Ratio|1|25|40|12|
                |Voltage AC|230V|9.2V|5.8V|19V|
                |Voltage DC (*1.41)|230V|13V|8.1V|27V|

I have disabled a undervoltage protection of TOP247Y, disconnected secondaries and tried to power it up...

Dick Smith Q-1760 linear power supply filter capacitor question
                by Agent24
I have acquired a used Dick Smith Q-1760 power supply - although the OEM is Manson Industrial
It has at least one problem.

The voltage control potentiometer VR2, 50K is faulty - going high resistance / open circuit in the CCW end and leading to the output voltage jumping around.
I have already ordered a replacement potentiometer, so that's not an issue.

Now, I want to replace all three electrolytics on the PCB as they are CapXon and I don't trust them so much, I will replace them with something better while I've got the thing apart anyway.
                All are CapXon...
