    EC200XA with bad JPCE-TUR

    EuroCase EC200XA from 1999

The life of the PSU (and anything connected to it) denepds on this cap in the auxiliary power supply (22uf/50V cap in the center). Apparently JPCE-TUR caps are not that bad - this one had still 12uF left so the PSU still worked (unlike HEC caps which were often used here and are probably all dead now)

Bad JPCE-TUR in 5V output filter

    Replaced all 3 JPCE-TUR 1000uF/10V caps with 2200uF/16V

Replaced the cap in auxiliary supply with 33uF/63V

    The bad JPCE-TUR 1000uF/10V

Who OEMs these - Deer, Powmax or somebody similar? What does the rectifier on the +12v rail look like - is it a TO-220 or a pair of FR302s soldered together on a metal bracket?

Don't know who made these but they're not Deer.
These PSUs exist in various flavors - from 200W up to 350W. The PCB is always the same, only the components are different. These 200W have no input filter, transistors are TO220, 12V output rectifier is made from two diodes. The 350W ones have complete input filter, bigger transistors, bigger transformer and better rectifiers too.
The good thing on these PSUs is that the fan is really quiet.

Everybody who claims CEC to be a crap brand is rather stupid. OK, some get bulged bit not more often then Chemicon or Fujitsu. Enermax (Galaxy, Infinity, FMA...series), good SuperFlower PSUs and some mediocre Xilence use JPCE models of electrolytes. The quality is equal to TEAPO and Samxon, not the best but certanly good enough, with small faliure statistics!
