    Corsair GS600 Noise

    Hello,

I have this Corsair GS600 and I`m getting this horrible, annoying sound, not sure if this is called “coil whine” or “capacitor whine”, you guys are the experts can decide better than me.

(not my video but this is the exact same problem I have)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2KNdf8OBoQ

[I touched the psu case, fan and I can feel a vibration coming from the inside, also when the sound gets worst I can hear vibration]

I haven`t heard any similar sound in any other model of Corsair PSUs, this is the most annoying thing ever.

When doing simple stuff like web browsing it will not sound that bad, but when I play games like battlefield it just gets worst.

As I see this seems to be a very common problem with the GS series, I`m wondering if the GS series is that cheap.

Can you guys tell me more info. about this product, should I ask for a new GS or get a TX650v2, I`m VERY, VERY, VERY, desperate with this sound.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Corsair GS600 Noise

How old is this PSU, approximately?
Did the problem develop suddenly or slowly get worse?
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Hi, it is less than two weeks old, if you google "Corsair GS noise” you´ll find a lot of people complaining about this problem but not an actual technical explanation what is causing it.

Some advices from Corsair are like turn on Vsync, turn off CPU C1E and EIST but none of this will work.

But what type of noise is it “coil whine” or “capacitor whine”?

I`ll accept any other type of noise but this will just make me crazy.

It's coil whine. I haven't seen a capacitor make noise... yet.

HP 8470p - distorted sound and noise when playing audio
          by televizora
          Hello.
I have an issue with HP 8470p - rather strange one.
I have a noise and sound distortions on both internal speakers and external speakers, when I plug such into the 3.5mm audio jack.
Seems like the noise is present especially when I play audio, where there are parts/sections where the volume of the actual recorded sound is low.
Interestingly, when I play the windows sound test, everything seems to be almost okay. The sound/distortions are similar to when you have interference from some other piece of equipment nearby or when you have an audio receiver with bad amplifier...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
          by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB (Chassis SR) TV Repair Help - Distorted Subwoofer Sound and overall weird sound waveforms
          by LEECH666
          Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

LAPTOP HP 15-DY2059LA / i3-12gen has stability problems in vccpu coils, BUZZING SOUND. ¿Coil whine?
          by valente222
Hello friends, I just received this equipment, it has a strange hum on the board. The computer works fine, outputs an image and starts Windows. But the problem is when charging the battery, a constant loop to charge. In short, it never charges the battery. When the charger is connected, the stability of the CPU is stressed and it seems that the coils make that electrical sound louder. This board is modern and I don't have a schematic. I have checked with a microscope and the pcb is completely new. Has anyone had this happen to them before? defect in driver ic?...

Tele-master AS-20 amplifier. No output sound, just noise
          by Francesc V.
          Hi:

I bought this amplifier from the 70s to try to repair it. So far it has no output sound, just noise. You can volume it up and down.

I've checked fuses and all are ok.
          I've continued with capacitors:
          • The main black one should have 4700uF, but it has lost half of its capacity during these years.
          • The ones that I've numbered have still a really low ESR and the full capacity after ¿40 years?

The 4 transitors are perfect. Desoldered and tested individually.
There are also components which I don't know exactly what they are....
