This PSU should be easy enough for the Gods of this forum to identiefy! A friend of mine gave me a call about a week ago from a place called Featherlite that builds custom coaches. He then told me that their C&C machine was outputting a high pitched beeping sound then would just shut off.About an hour and a half later plus a trip charge
I was standing in front of a huge solid aluminumn case that was compleatly enclosed except for the PSU exhaust! 30 5 1/4 20's later,I had the beast opened. No thrills here, just a DOS machine running newer hardware(a.k.a MSI KT-880 Delta,2200XP,MX-400,ect.Turned out that the CPU header took a leave of absensce and caused it to shut down, nothing wrong with the PSU,as far as I can tell.T ake a look and see if you can identify this dinosaur, and wtf is with all these older MSI boards?

Re: Here's a easy one!
Looks like a half-bridge inverter (two smaller transformers, one for the +5V Stby and the other for the switch device base/gate drive). Probably uses a TL494 or clone for the PWM; probably uses transistors as the switch devices, perhaps clones of Motorola's MJE13007 or 13009. Wimpy heatsinks and main transformer, probably rated for 235W or 250W, but more than 200W would be pushing your luck. As Rainbow points out, "Where's the beef?" That tiny inductor that I'm guessing is the +3.3V mag-amp inductor is really tiny - does it glow cherry red when you use the P/S in a system?PeteS in CA
Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

These Real Power Enterprise Co. units can also be found under the Turbolink name, most often with a 420W sticker on the side.Comment

I'm mostly familiar with Delta when it comes to PC P/Ss, since I used to work for them. So I can't guess at the mfr of this unit.PeteS in CA

by handsworthJust wanted to share some information that I ran across when attempting to do the tape method on a tv with a shorted panel. I normally use magnifying glasses however while watching a you tube video, the person was using their phone. It seems that the Iphone has a magnifier app and wow, it works great. I have Iphone 11 and the app is built in. Pictures attached are screen shots. Made taping the pins a breeze. Also useful when reading the tiny print on the boards. Hope this helps somebody. ...
