Repaired A Dell Printer power supply this was fun !

My bother call me one day last week saying hey my printer dose not work any more so I said OK let take a look and see what up

Power supply DEAD no power output........ 30 volt power supply

Open the little power supply and found that it has a mosfet and three caps that on the hit list of BAD brands to have in a power supply

    330 uf @ 35 volts 1.4 ESR reading
    10 uf @ 50 volts 13 ESR reading

Mosfet was a question mark to where or not it was working or not

I first put in the Mosfet and then there was power of 29.98 volts DC
but would turn on the printer

so I put a motor that is 12 volts on this power supply the motor ran slow on the power supply
then I changed the two caps now the printer come on and works like it did when it was new

Took about 1.5 hours to fix this power supply

    Mosfet $1.00
    330 cap $1.00
    10 cap $0.20

Shipping $7.00 there was other parts ordered

      UpDate

This power supply still going strong after being repaired

So I am sure that is a good fix

I had to fix a Radio Shack power supply today [which they no longer sell] .....> [it is not switching] because of a very bad cap
4500 uf @ 25 volts ESR reading of 3.1 which has pop it's top the replaced cap has a ESR reading of .02

I found Ltec units in a Dell V310 power supply module made by Delta.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

I'm a little late here, but I am holding a Delta EADP-152CF from a Lexmark laser printer. It has bad Ltec caps.
