    iMac G5 Power Supply Voltages

    Hello all,

I need some help to troubleshoot my iMac G5 Power Supply. I followed this post (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...1&postcount=37) to measure the voltages. I can read numbers from 2 pins only: 20v in Pin 22, and 5v in Pin 9. The meter shows the same voltage when power supper is in Off or On position. The rest of pin have 0 volt.

My iMac G5 model is API4PC46 Rev A. Part numbers is 614-0366.

    Please help

It needs to be recapped, to begin with. Everything except the 2 mains filters.

Clear, well lit photos of the unit. In particular the underside near the middle of the board.

      Hi Toasty,

Thank for the reply. I took few pictures for my power supply, please take a look on it.

All capacitors looks good. No bulging or leak.

Looks good. I see none of the usual symptoms.

Re-cap it 100% (except for 2 Rubycon mains caps) and it should be fine.

Please fill in your profile with your location. Country at least.

Like Toasty say, recap it 100% ,even if caps looks good(no leaking,or bulging), in time will be,"cooked" by heat and loose capacity. I've seen this in many situation.
