    Dell 2300 PSU Experience?

Have a Dell 2300 PSU model PH-P2037F3 Rev:H02 searched the forum using both the model number and "Dell 2300 Power Supply" but got "no matches" for all my searches.

Checked the Internet but have only found parts sites like http://www.txcesssurplus.com/servlet...on-2300/Detail

Hope someone may have either good or bad experience with this PSU.

There may be bad caps. Hipro used many cap brands, and some are worse than others.

Also, make sure the fan control thermistor is pushed against the heatsink. I have the 250W version of that power supply, and the thermistor is supposed to sit inside a metal clip. Compare the third image in this post with the second image in this post. The round blue component near the edge of the heatsink is the thermistor. In the second post, the thermistor fell out of the clip, causing the fan to stop running.

A lot of these hipro made dell power supplies have either Asiacon or Ark brand caps which fail often. Other than that these power supplies are tanks, a simple recap and they will last forever.

Doesn't surprise me at all. D/Hell would specify that.

Get all that trash outta there and you'll never have to worry about it. It is a Hipro after all.

Almost all Hipro power supplies have crappy caps. The best cap brand they normally use is Teapo. That 700W is an exception.

I have taken apart two Hipro power supplies, and the fan control thermistor was not touching the heatsink in either of them. They also use crappy fans. Most of them use an Adda sleeve bearing fan, but the Hipro power supply in my old Compaq had a Minebea ball bearing fan that was very loud and didn't move much air. I wouldn't say that they are "tanks" after only recapping them.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
              by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell Pro 13 Plus PB13250 Bios Unlock
              by Akhlz001
              Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

Dell thunderbolt firmware, extracted from dell firmware update exe. Padded to 1MB.

Some models have a choice of 2 different firmwares, it depends on the dell SKU.
The SKU is in brackets (****)

Dell Latitude 3440 - Service tag ending in 0001 - Locked!

BIOS password locked Dell Latitude 3440 (Service tag B4HNJX3)
Have extracted the BIN and want to know how to rebuild a clean BIOS

I have come across the 8F8C patcher but not sure if that would work in my case as the service tag ends in 0001.
I tried it and although the log states it patched several mentions of 8F8C in the BIN, I haven't flashed it yet in case such a patch wouldn't work.

Have also tried to extract a clean BIN file from Dell's .exe BIOS updates using 'Dell PFS Extractor', but not confidently; Ended up with a 25MB file instead of the same 32MB...

Dell Latitude 5420 does not start (no post) need help to find the reason why
              by F R 2568
              Hello all,

this is my first post, so if I make mistakes please do not hesitate to point them out, thank you in advance.

I got a Dell Latitude 5420 (Service Tag: 7RFM6D3, Motherboard: GDF40 LA-491P Rev.: 2.0 (A01)) which does not start and I want to repair it. These are the symptoms:

If the laptop is only connected to the AC adapter (battery removed):

When I press the power button, the keyboard backlight and the display backlight are turning on. Caps key light is lightning, but key does not respond to pressing it.

              The power/battery...
