    PSU question

For my 2-cpu machines, I am leaning towards picking up some Enermax power supplies of an older vintage like 465v PE which is rated at 431W but has lots of 3.3 & 5v power (over 30A). This is for Tyan dual CPU S2466 boards (not the ATX/GES models)

I looked up their calculator: ://www.enermax.outervision.com/PSUEngine

    Any thoughts?

    Re: PSU question

    Thoughts about what?

I was having trouble running a dual p3 mobo it would freeeze a lot. It had been running on a 200w fsp just fine, but it would freeze with a200w liteon that had more power amperage in every rail. I put it an ancoent enermax eg301pv and all is well

Enermax Liberty ECO 400W [ELT400AWT] - from scraped to serviced
      by momaka
Remember this pile of junk electronics I got last year? Well, that's where this Enermax Liberty ECO 400 Watt PSU came from. Like I mentioned, it had cut cables and many bulged caps on the DC output side. I stripped a few cables and did a quick temporary recap with whatever junk (but still reading OK) caps I could find, then performed a basic power test – the PSU passed. Thus, I knew I'd eventually go around to repairing it. One year later and we're here.

First shown is the label below, so anyone reading can see what PSU we're dealing with here.

      Enermax Tomahawk ETK450AWT PSU Repair
      by eigma
A few weeks ago my computer power supply (Enermax Tomahawk ETK450AWT) stopped working. Of course this led me down a reverse engineering and circuit debugging rabbit hole ;-) I also learned about capacitor Equivalent series resistance along the way, and wrote an article about it all. Here are some sneak peeks:

Enermax Platimax EPM1500EGT random turn on
      by LeKowalsky
      Hi,

I'm novice in smps repairs and lurker here also in addition to my preparation I have read Jestine Yong's Troubleshooting & Repairing Switch Mode Power Supplies many times and I cautiously proceeded in small steps a time.

      What's on the table?

      Enermax Platimax 1500W (EPM1500EGT)

      Symptom

A fault is a little tricky here. When plugged into the wall for a first time (i.e. after proper discharge) PSU starts on power button (PS_ON) as expected, runs smoothly with all the voltages in tolerance also shows quite stable operation...

      Enermax MODU 87+ EMG500AWT
      by Xorat
      Hello there,

i got this power supply from Enermax, that was Dead until i removed that one cap. It is connected to 12 V and ground and it was completly shorting. Now my question would be, do i need to replace it and if, how do i get the value of it ?

Without the cap it turns on and runs just fine (stress tested for about 2 h with mainboard, cpu and gpu).

      best regards...

Wolf in sheep's clothing - Enermax in a Deer casing
      by Dan81
As the title says, I got a "AO" (no, not AOpen , their units are FSP) PSU that sits doing nothing and I have a complete PCB from a Enermax EG-365P/VE sitting here. It's a "P4 ready" variant according to the old casing. (which I ditched because of way too much rust)

Here are my goals with them:

      - remove whatever PCB the Deer has (and probably reuse it when I need a solid 200/250 watt unit for say a Pentium MMX - Pentium 3 range machine)
      - remove the auxiliary AT- style plug from the Enermax and the -5v rail as well since they have no...
