Re: Hp 15 bs015nia - LA-E791P
That IC itself might not be bad , it generates both 3.3v/5V PWM and LDOs , the components it supplies to might be bad, Most probably the KB9022 on the +3V rail.Comment

by momakaHere’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.
So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

by Bob_CrachetI am experiencing the following symptoms:
With the device fully assembled when I press the power button, nothing happens at all.
I pulled the power supply from the computer and stuck a paperclip into pins 16 and 17 on the connector causing the power supply to turn on and the fans to start spinning. All of the voltages checked out ok.
With the power supply outside of the case, I plugged it back into the motherboard and tested it again. No change. PC did not turn on.
I put my multimeter in continuity mode and put the black probe on one... -
by broke_boiHello all,
(I am just getting into electronics repair so excuse the noobness)
I have an Asrock B450 Pro 4 motherboard which doesn't power on. I have access to the Broadview file.
I have checked that the PSU is working. I have the 5V standby on pin 9 and the 5V PSON# on pin 16. When I short the pin 16 and the ground I see the fan running and other voltages as well.
I have removed everything from the motherboard except the CPU fan and have only connected the 24pin power from the PSU. I have not connected the 12V power from the PSU... - Loading...
