there must be a short somewhere in the board, i usually replace the control ic that is connected to the mosfet if the mosfet goes bad just a suggestion. hope this helps..

Thanks, i replace the IC control, i have tested it without ic control, but it stays short

visual check where the mosfet is connected and try to clean it.. i have an experienced in board connectors that is ok when you check it without power but shorting out when you put power on it. specially boards that is thin or boards that was liquid spill damage. hope this helps..

did you check for short? placing negative prod of your tester to ground and poking the mosfet or parts around it with the positive prod. maybe there are still shorted mosfet around it. use binocular microscope if available or just a magnifying lens with strong light.. happy hunting!

i check for short circuit with Psu
and i find only the bga n16-gt-a2 to be heated.

is this mosfet that shorting out part of the supply for BGA ic that is heating up? there is something shorting it out when power is applied. visual check it again..try to look from the shorting mosfet connection..and what it supplies the power to. there is a shorted component else where hope its not the bga nvdia.. try again till you get it..

The Question how many volt when injecting?

Many people got mistake when injecting 19V rails with high volt, if one of High Side/ Upper Side fet shorted between Drain to Source, then directly voltage goes to COILS/OUPUT/LOAD side. (Maybe CPU, CHIPSET, RAM lines--- ~1V-1.5V)

has somebody a board schematics ? I need to reveal the magnetic switch related to lcd - when lcd closed - the power on button doesn't work. need to overcome this behavior. thank You.

Asus X712EA 3 volts after the first mosfet
                      by AppleLover123
                      Hey guys,

i have a asus motherboard here and as the title says after the first mosfet (in the picture) there is nothing more than 3.15v.
I injected 19v and max. 1 amp at the charging port and there is not voltage drop or smth. It's just taking 19v and 1 milliamp.
Then i tried to inject 19v and max 1amp after the current sensor and there it first takes 19v and 4 milliamps and after 2 seconds it is taking nothing (no current).
I measured on the coils on board everything seems fine. Also the main power rail is not shorted (infinite resistance).
                      Now i thought something...

                      Asus GA502D keeps blowing mosfet
                      by Scotchmist
I have an Asus GA502D, it had a blown mosfet which I replaced and the laptop booted into windows, a few mins later it shut off, the same mosfet was blown. I thought maybe just a bad mosfet but same thing happened again, a few mins in windows and shuts off.

I have removed the mosfet and can run the laptop no problem

                      The MOSFET is FDPC5018SG

Can anyone point me in the direction of what could be the cause of this, could it be the controller rt3663bc?

                      Thanks

ASUS ROG Zephyrus GPU Mosfet repeat failure
                      by MicroSMD Lab
The board number is GU502DU. I repaired this a couple weeks ago and it came back with the same issue, same mosfet failed (PQH9201). I'm hoping that the GPU was spared this time.
I used the same replacement part (purchased from Mouser) and I'm certain the soldering was done properly since it took just as much effort to remove as before. What could cause this same mosfet to fail? I'm thinking if it was unsuitable then the others would fail too. I looked for similar failures on YTube and the mosfet was replaced with AOE6930 in one instance and AOE6932 in the other but it's possible that the...

ASUS G513R - cannot remove MOSFET
                      by someonenotyou
                      Hi.

                      I have a ASUS G513R laptop with shorted MOSFET (MP86959GMW-Z 45A).
I tried to preheat the board to 200C brom the bottom and with rework station set to 400C I flowed it for about 2min. The MOSFET does not come off.
Of course, I did not force it, but tried to lift it up with tweezers.

Is it possible, that these MOSFETs are glues to the board? Or it got welded to the board from the short? It looks intact, no signs of blowing up.
