    Re: 820-00138-a A1398

Has anyone been able to locate a proper Boardview layout for the 820-00138? Most sites are still calling their layout correct, but it is just an 820-3662. I'm happy to pay for it if it is correct.

For most circuits, 820-00163 or 820-3662 should help.
I've only seen the correct one in XinZhiZao.

I have 19,6V on PPBUS_G3H, this is too much, it should be 12v.

Does anyone has any idea what I can do next?

you may check the resistor value according schematic.. there must be an faulty resistor.

Strange liquid on damaged GTX1080 card

                                  Hi,

I'm fixing a GPU card for a streamer, was sent to me by mail. A shorted cap on a power rail has severely burned the PCB.

As you can see from the darkened PCB around the mosfets there are signs of liquid damage. But it's odd because the person says no water has entered the PC cabinet. If you spill something on a desktop you would know I guess...

Funny thing is that the liquid is not only on the PCB but on top of many chips which are tightly covered by thermal padding under the heatsink, even on top of some of the RAM chips

                                  ...

I hope my computer does not randomly reboot while typing this. My main system is the AsRock 970A-G/3.1 motherboard with the AMD 8150 chip. I am experiencing FREQUENT and RANDOM reboots once the system is used for a couple of hours (sometimes it reboots before I even get to the Win7/Linux Mint dual-boot screen). The problem MIGHT be the DRAM controller chip (I recently upgraded to the maximum 64 GB RAM). It also might be the VRM chips. I am using a typical aftermarket CPU cooler, which does NOT blow air DOWN onto the VRM heat sink.

                                  by Fam787
I bought a second hand Mid 2014 A1398 MacBook Pro when I lived in Australia. I'd bought it as a back-up machine because I had a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro, and realising it might one day fail, I wanted a backup machine because I don't like change.

Two weeks after buying MBP2, the seller called me to check if everything was OK with the unit, which I thought was odd. At that stage I might have turned it on a couple of times, but I'd not used it when he'd called. Over the last few years I used the machine seldomly because my original mac has been pretty OK. Every 3-6 months I'd charge it...

I would like to repair faulty backlight in Philips TV. In various videos, guys use a liquid before using a suction tool.

                                  Hi!

I´ve got an Acer C27-1655 AiO computer for repair on my bench.
                                  Mainboard: AX1T_MAIN_PCB

The liquid was mainly in the area of MQ1, the voltage regulator for +VDDQ_MEM (pictures attached).

                                  Symptoms:
When power is connected and power switch is pressed, I get 5V at L1, 3.3V at L2 and 1.8V at LPM5. I also get V1.05A_BYPASS at R442 for PCH.
I also measure 2V on +V1.8U_2.5U_MEM but +VDDQ_VTT and +VDDQ_MEM stay at 0V. +V1.8U_2.5U_MEM is also drawn to 0V if RAM memory is installed.
                                  LPM1, LPM2 and LPM3 stay at 0V.
