DV9823em schematic

Hi

I've got a HP Pavilion DV9000, model DV9823em.

Device manager sees no audio device, no sound, video, game controllers listed.

If I Boot to Linux I still get no audio device.

Does anyone have a schematic for this, so I can try to find the chip and test it?

Hmm! You can see that I'm not very good at this, but I think I should be getting either 1.5v or 3v @ pin 9 U22.

Or am I just a bit dense?

if dv2000 dv6000 dv9000 lost a device, i would reflow chipset if its nvidia
99% source of all problems

Agree, I've had them reflowed in the past but never done it myself.

Tempted to give it a go, if I do and it's a success, I will sell it as it's otherwise in good condition.

The other option is to run it as is, I do have a use for another laptop, the lack of audio is not important.

loks like a SB fault, but check if it is enabled in bios

Bios was ok, I did reset to defaults, but I might flash it anyway. Will have to wait until tomorrow.

Reflowed the audio chip (U22 CX20561-12) and all is well.

Wow nice fix.

With tzatziky flux to?

Good job ill try this on the next laptop. Had one g6 two weeks ago and gave him a usb sound card.
He was happy but i will have try this if i knew.

No flux, just 320c for 45 seconds and Hey Presto, it worked.

I know, I'm stupid sometimes. My only excuse is that I was being constantly interupted.
