can remove password by flashing bios ?or need something els as i saw post regarding one small eeprom ......dont know from where to start

find U22 (is marked something like PS08, 24PS08), short 5 and 6 pins when logo appears, press F1 to enter setup, remove short, write a password like 1234, save, restart. it's tricky to get it right from the 1st time, you have to short pins right after logo appears.Last edited by volinakis; 12-19-2022, 02:46 AM.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good day. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong topic. I saw somebody selling a Thinkpad E495 with a Ryzen 3500U CPU near me. In the pictures the laptop is running windows 10. I contacted the seller and asked a few questions about upgradability and if it has a bios password on it. He confirmed it has a bios password. I searched through the forum, I found a guide regarding removing the bios password using the autopatcher, I also found a thread with the e495 where people requested help with unlocking the bios password.

I want to remove the Bios Password of my Lenovo IdeaPad U330p with the Lenovo autopatcher. I have the CH341A Black and I'm using NeoProgrammer. The Programmer has an LED that indecates when it reads or writes the Chip. When I try to Connect my Programmer to the Bios Chip (Winbond 25Q64FVSIQ) the LED lights up even though I didn't click on Detect botton in NeoProgrammer. If i click on Detect the LED still remains on and NeoProgrammer says "IC not responding".
