Please I need help.
Quick rundown long story shorter, but still long winded.
I received this Lenovo P1 GEN 1 about a year ago from a business.
It was pretty much dead hit the power button and the LED on the power light would come on as would the keyboard back light a couple times and just shut off or go into high speed fan mode without life other than the power button led.
At that time it was still under warranty, I spoke to Lenovo and I was going to send it in to have them repair it.
Then late last fall my father-in-law suffered a stroke and fell and broke his hip and for the next five months I was there daily helping him during his recovery. During this time the warranty expired early this year 2022.
So I started doing some searching and I think it boiled down to the thunderbolt setting within bios may have screwed up the main bios. Therefore I made five dumps of the main 32mb bios and they all matched.
I found a donor bios online that I installed and it gave the laptop life, it was a 1.19 ver. Went through some windows updates and I took some firmware updates as well and it's working wonderfully except for the fact that when you turn it on there's a painful delay of approximately 20+ seconds or so before it comes to life with the lenovo splash other than the power led on. The current bios ver is now at 1.41
According to the bios the ME is the culprit as its blank no version. I have made several attempts to correct this problem without any luck, failed cleaning it.
Can someone take a look at this donor bios and maybe assist me in cleaning the ME region.
Or do you see a different problem?
I tried to do it myself and failed many times with ME Analyzer v1.274.0 r277
ME Analyzer would crash every time I tried to read the original dump, it does read the current firmware.
I really don't know what I am actually doing, I have watched many guides.
I did also flash the thunderbolt chip early and that is working fine, I did not zero it out first, the laptop itself is working fine other than the painful slow post..
*This is the actual info is from the label on the back cover
*Lenovo P1 g1 Type 20MD-002PUS
*SN# R9-0SVG0B 18/12
8th Gen Intel i7-8850H
GPU's Intel 630 + NVVIDIA P1000 "Both work"
Does have thunderbolt "works well"
Does have fingerprint bio "works"
No errors found under diag.
The upload is the ver. 1.41 bios currently working with slow post:
Below info is from within Bios setup screen
UEFI BIOS Version N2EET59W (1.41)
Embedded Controller Version N2EHT30W (1.15)
ME Firmware Version is empty
Machine Type Model 20MD002PUS
System-unit serial number "R90SVG0B
System board serial number W2KS8CL10L2 "I don't know if its right or wrong, not sure where to find it
I remover the cover many times and if it was a label, it may have fallen off.
Same as the board model number? not sure where that is either.
I am using a Rasberry PI
I always take 3-5 backup dumps and compare
I have done a lot of PCs and Macs in the past without an issue, but the ME is a struggle for me, not even sure if that's the cause of slow post. Maybe the EC region?
The original corrupt dump could not even be opened within ME Analyzer, machine was basically dead.
I will include the original dump called OEM.bin and the current working dump called slowpost.bin
Please can someone help or supply a clean dump for this P1?
Again, the OEM dump will NOT post at all.
