    HP 14s-fq0017na laptop not booting..repeated blinking LED

    Hi

    Working on a HP 14s-fq0017na

    just suddenly blank screen during updating. Now will not power up

    Getting repeated flashing Power LED..no pattern.

    Looking at some vidoes could be possible corrupt bios

    I have removed and and verified the bios chip

    would be grateful if you could take a look at it and see if it looks bad

    Ive made a wee donation to the site as a way of thankyou, and as i will probably use it more in my line of work
    snd i certainly dont want to take the piss

      bios extracted from the HP website update, the laptop has two bios variants .. yours is 087B7
      DMI 0 -10FF
      KEYWIN 8000 - 803F

          Hi peste,

          thanks for the reply, i am very new to messing with bios. Do ihave to extract my existing DMI and windows key from those addresses in the original bios dump and import to new one

              Update

              I tried mporting the data at the hex locations above from my original bios for the DMI and Keywin, reflashed the bios and resoldered
              We now have a working laptop again
              Great result

                  I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

                  I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
