The BIOS file I downloaded from BadCaps works fine.
However, the serial number is missing and not visible.
              Please help.

Hello, first and foremost - sorry for hijacking this thread.

I bought Lenovo S540-15IML that powers on with no image. After initial inspection and bit of googling I found this topic and I thought it was the same issue as stefanbs had, although mine was not water damaged - so I swapped the resistor for memory config to disable onboard memory, but to no avail. I tried multiple RAM sticks to be sure.

With original BIOS in place the laptop turns on, the consumption jumps from steady 30mA when off to somewhere around 500mA and jumps around a little, then settles on 400mA forever. No image, +VCC_GT missing.

I tried BIOS from THIS TOPIC, post #15. I tried BIOS from current topic, post #28. Same story. I also tried stefanbs's dump, but the laptop won't do anything - instead of turning on it almost dies taking only 4mA. Then jumps back to 30mA.

So anyone has any clue what might be wrong? The CPU is doing something, but stops and draws steady power. I believe the missing voltage on VCC_GT (and thus no image) has something to do with the POST failing somewhere along the line. All other power rails seem to be OK.

                        Serial number: YX000W4S
Original dump attached. But I believe it might be wrong as someone was already messing with the Winbond chip before me.

                        Thanks for any help.

                                Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

                                by Thomas Dunlap
                                Hello,

I have a Lenovo Legion S7 15ACH6 that was interrupted during a BIOS update and is now bricked. Symptoms: fans spin, RGB keyboard lights up, but no display/POST.

                                The BIOS chip is a Gigadevice GD25LR128. I’m using a CH341A with a 1.8 V adapter. In AsProgrammer I selected GD25Q128 (since GD25LR128 isn’t listed) and successfully made a dump (BiosDump2_pf3eg12j.rar).

My understanding is that I’ll need a known good BIOS dump for this exact model, ideally matched to my laptop’s serial number (PF3EG12J), and that the Windows license key/serial should also...

Need Clean BIOS/EC Bin File for Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e - Stuck with 0275 Error CMS

                                Hello everyone,

I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.

This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 - Hard Disk not recognized in BIOS
                                by mkdj
                                Dear all,

I have recently fixed a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 ALC6 that was not booting due to a BIOS issue. After flashing the BIOS, the laptop boots up, but hard disk is not recognized in BIOS. Is says "Hard Disk : Not Installed". I have tried with 2 different drives (one that I know is working on another laptop) but I get the same result. I do not know if disks were recognized before I got the laptop and fix it, but I don't see any reason why not. I can boot on USB though.

Here the steps I have taken to fix the laptop:
                                - downloaded latest BIOS from Lenovo Website...

                                Hi all,
I have a ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th gen that stopped booting after a failed BIOS update. There is no life from the machine when the power button is pressed, but when the charger is plugged in, the amber charging indicator turns on and the power button blinks three times. The battery does charge, eventually turning the amber light white. I've dumped the BIOS and tried to fix it (but I don't know what I'm doing or how to use Lenovo's update files in this way) and even attempted to overwrite it with other uploads I've found here to no avail. I've posted the dump in the request forum and...
