Lenovo Legion Y540-17IRH bricked, need BIOS

    Hello everybody,

I have a bricked (after BIOS downgrade) Lenovo Legion Y540-17IRH notebook. Attached is a screenshot of the motherboard version and a dump of the corrupted BIOS. Could anybody provide me with an up-to-date, fixed BIOS file with all DMI information transferred?

I thank you very much in advance for your efforts.

Here is an older (38) version if you need to downgrade from the current (44) one for some reason. The DMI location as already mentioned by Peste.

          hoaca388, peste & Vesko356,

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I will try to program the BIOS today with the files you attached & will let you know about the outcome.

I think I will try the most up-to-date version first, and go to earlier versions if required.

            Hello guys,

This absolutely WORKED at the first try. I used hoaca388-s BIOS, all DMI data is here also. I am totally thrilled.

            Thank you SO VERY MUCH!

                            Hi masters, I have
                            Legion Y540-17IRH (81Q4)
                            SN: PF28T3J0
                            MTM: 81Q400G7PB

It starts, in left top corner blinks white underscore 3 times, no Legion Logo, just backlight is on.
I tried to flash hoaca388 BIOS from post #2 and I got artifacts on screen. If I went to bios, "Discrete graphic" option was greyed out, no changes available.
Is it because this bios is for different GPU?
My BIOS attached, can anyone have a look please.

                            Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have a problem with my laptop, it wasn't booting/showing anything on the screen. I have found another bios in the internet, and switched ME Region, it boots now, displays on the screen, I can see that circle from booting, but after around one "loop" it just freezes. Think that still might be an BIOS issue, and the one I made just isn't working properly.
Could someone please make me a proper bios file so I can hopefully boot my laptop ?

Hey, the bios technically works fine, was able to boot finally, but my laptop is still not working perfectly, and im not sure if that has something to do with BIOS or not, it can only boot once, if I turn the laptop off (was able to restart), I cannot power it again, the power led will stay white for about 10s, and then goes dark and tries to boot over and over again.
Sometimes removing battery and cmos battery for 20-30mins makes me able to boot again. Also the keyboard was working only within the first boot, if I restart the laptop the keyboard just stops working. Also I have got bluetooth signal, but not WiFi. (Has error code 10 in device manager.
Not 100% sure if that has anything to do with the bios you sent me, or it's just a bigger motherboard problem.

Sometimes removing battery and cmos battery for 20-30mins makes me able to boot again. Also the keyboard was working only within the first boot, if I restart the laptop the keyboard just stops working. Also I have got bluetooth signal, but not WiFi. (Has error code 10 in device manager.

                                          Hello there.

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

                                          History:

                                          1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...

                                          Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

                                          Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                                          Hello!

A few days ago I bricked my Lenovo x1 nano gen 1 while updating the bios/fw from linux.
No the machine power up, but it stuck in a recovery state and I can not do much.

I would like to flash a new BIOS/FW on the chip using a CH341a programmer but ... I actually don't know which "chip" on the motherboard to target 🤦‍♂️
So here I am to ask for help.

I opened the laptop and I found a chip that may be the target, on it I've:
