Dell Inspiron 5402-5409 and Vostro 5402-5409 models may encounter an issue where the service tag cannot be saved after reprogramming the BIOS. The solution is to use attached BIOS images. 😁 But even after trying this, you might still encounter the same issue, right? 😁😁 Don't panic—the trick is to try pressing the ALT + F keys several times, perhaps up to 10 times, until you see the prompt 'Please select your laptop model.' After entering the model number, you will be prompted to enter the service tag. 😀😀 Good luck

Hi, I need help setting the correct Service Tag in the BIOS of a Dell laptop with the following specs:
                        • Motherboard model: MKB N TGL 8L MB 19861-1
                        • Model: Dell Inspiron 5402 (P130G002)
                        • Service Tag: 181SVM3
                        • Express Service Code: 2663538699

Since the Service Tag went missing or got corrupted, I now have to reset the BIOS every time I want to turn on the laptop. I believe this might be related, and restoring the correct Service Tag and SSD recognition could potentially fix the issue.

Any help or guidance on how to reprogram the Service Tag and stabilize the BIOS would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

merged post ...next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..

Good afternoon, I have a Dell Inspiron 5402 that came from another service center with the BIOS rewritten, always with the fan at maximum. I have rewritten several BIOSes and none of them save the service tag, motherboard model 19861-1 service tag HHJ35G3.

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Dell Inspiron 3480 All in One corrupt Bios issue: reaches Dell logo and stops
                            by computerbacon79
The Dell Inspiron 3480 I own (the all in one, not the laptop) is not wanting to turn on at all. It goes right to a dell logo, but it stays there forever with no other information on the screen. Holding the automatic Bios repair key combo (ctrl+esc) that should let it read a recovery file off a USB drive gets stuck on a black screen and does nothing. No amount of resetting anything so far has worked, and Dell's own support downloads have not really helped. Ive tried another BIN file I found online using my CH341A, and this got me slightly more, that time it displayed a loading bar that never moved...

                            by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...
