Re: Hs461 hs561 hs761 nm-d521 rev 2.0 bios plz
Great post, one question:
I have a Ideapad 3 14ALC6 with motherboard Hs461 hs561 hs761 nm-d521 rev 2.0, and i will CH341a programmer, but chipset GD25LR128DSIG not found in data list (ASProgrammer or Neoprogrammer). Is there a way for me to add the chip for programmer with CH341a 1.8v adapter?
The closest chip I could find listed was the GD25LQ128C 1.8v

The flash worked fine but my issue still exists. I have a motherboard virus that apparently can"t be removed. Flashing the spi was the last resort. I guess I will be throwing away a laptop I bought less than 3 years ago.Leave a comment:

Re: lenovo ideapad 3 15ACL6 bios request
Reading all related posts is not enough, you must try to understand all the information in that posts otherwise you just read some text which obviously is not very fruitful as you (and I) can see.
Slow down - first of all old bios is needed for copying the DMI information in it - nothing more, nothing less, so all the modifying we must do is related to the new file i.e. new bios. Secondly if you try to read the guide more carefully you will see that you must remove the header from the bios.cap file extracted from the bios update executable downloaded from the manufacturer support page.
That's right - after extracting the bios.cap file from the update executable we must cut it to have the new (virgin) bios dump, and after moving the DMI information from our old dump to it we have the finished file ready to be programmed to the bios chip.
Don't want to be rude but that's B.S. Both old and new file must be 16,384 KB each.
Post #4 is about 41 version (GLCN41WW) of the bios, so first things first, the link for you to download this update executable is:
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer...s/glcn41ww.exe
Download the file, extract the bios.cap file from it, attach the file in your next post when ready, and we will continue to talk after that.
.
I figured it out. I was following the post about extracting TDK files and it says to select/copy 0-800000 but my chip is 16 not 8. So, I made the adjustment and got the DMI info in. So, I am ready to hook up my programmer. I was making it much more complicated than it needed to be.
Thanks!Leave a comment:

Re: lenovo ideapad 3 15ACL6 bios request
I read literally every post, on every thread, that was even remotely relevant, which unfortunately, was hundreds. It got all jumbled up in my head.
Post 20 says to read post 4, the copyDMI guide. It also says to remove the header but it's unclear if I remove the header from the "oldbios" AND the "newbios."
The "newbios" is the bin file made after unpacking the Phoenix TDK file, mentioned in a different thread on this site? Does it matter that my original bios ("oldbios") is 16,384 kb and the "newbios" is 8,192 Kb? attached both.
Sorry if these sound like stupid questions. Thanks for your help!Leave a comment:

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

by jbonavitaHi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
Some issues
A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized
Things I tried
1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-
