Hey there gents (and ladies on the off chance),

I recently got gifted an old business Latitude 5400, obviously admin password set in the bios, otherwise I probably wouldn't be here.
I've done some research on the matter and from what I have gathered for older models master passwords can be generated via sites like bios-pw(dot)org. Models ending in 8FC8 however require the ROM to be flashed, with a currupted file that makes the hardware think it just came fresh off of the assembly line?
Which makes me wonder, is there really about 200 (guesstimation of half the 534 posts in this thread asking for binaries to be modified) people actually reading out their ROMs and flashing them?

                                Best Regards

                                B

Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...
