Re: Thinkbook 15-IIL bios DALVACMB8D0
details on laptop: Lenovo Thinkbook 14 IIL, Model name: 20SL, Factory ID: CS20, S/N: LR0D0C6C, MO: LRN0B032700B, MTM: 20SL001NAK
Laptop problem: i shut it down a couple of days ago and thats it. pretty normal shut down after normal use. now it doesnt POST. power light comes on, charging LEDs respond to charger and charges battery but no HDD light. HDD and Fan spin but thats it nothing else happens no display either, not even backlight...
Things i already tried: reset bios cmos, did the whole power drain by removing battery, tried different RAM, different HDD, nothing worked. The CPU feels warm like its on but other than that nothing else happens.Comment

You can use the file from Post #20 and it will works fine. But you have to take a backup from your BIOS chip before re-flash it, to keep the DMI save.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Thinkbook 15-IIL bios DALVACMB8D0
Hello again.
The bios did not work. I tried 2 files and none work. I assume my original bios might have been okay because I think this is a hardware issue now. After measuring voltages I found abnormal voltage on the DCIN rail. 9.1v instead of 20v. Unless I am missing something there.
Anyway, thanks for the help, but I think I should move my issue to a different thread on hardware troubleshooting.Comment

Yes, it could be a Hardware issue and you can continue in the hardware section.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello! I'm new to BIOS modding and want to unlock thinkbook15 bios (and disable writeprotect so that I can flash internally).
Here's some detailed information:
BIOS Version: Phoenix DJCN31WW
Backed Firmware: Attached to this post
I have tried several methods(ru.efi,setup_var.efi,modding using ifrextractor and uefitool by longsoft [ I know something has been "suppressed", but have no idea how to "unsuppress" them. ] ), but due to my poor knowledge, none of them worked.
I would appreciate it if anyone can offer some advice or help mod the firmware.Attached FilesComment

by WahazHello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....-

by DiddiAbRecently I used the official Lenovo bios updater software on my ThinkBook 13s G3 ACN (20YA0005GE). The updating process failed and I got a black screen after powering the device. Of course I did not make an own backup before using the Lenovo bios updater.
I bought a CH341A programmer and was able to make a connection to the chip while it is still soldered on board. But I did not realise that the chip was a 16MB size and selected the wrong size (8Mbit / 1 MByte) before reading the content of my chip. So the dump I did before erasing the chip is only 1MByte big. I fear that I lost...-

by Chris_standHello,
i hope to find help her in the forum. It is a littlebit tricky. I searched many Days about disabling IntelME that was may major task. So i have a Clevo PD50PNN motherboard.
At first i tried to Backup the BIOS with tools direcly from Windows(normaly i am a Linux user). But no full success because not every part of the bios was readable. So i bought a modified CH341a for a Backup.
Backup worked but since the backup the Laptop is not booting anymore. I flashed the newest Version oft the BIOS with success, verfiy everything ok.
But the...-

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-
