Re: T2 Chip Programmer Tool
Hello, I brought a T203 programmer a little while ago, programmed the chip but did not realise at the time that the jaibreak was not compatible with Monterey.
Does anyone know, if or when a new CheckM8/Mina Jailbreak for Monterey will be available? And if so will I have to pay for it?
Thanks in advanceLast edited by Terry011; 06-06-2022, 11:53 AM.Comment

You can use Monterey on a jailbroken Mac if it was manually installed via bootable usb drive. The iboot version is the only thing that could prevent your jailbreak from working i.e if it's been updated above version 5.5.Comment

Re: T2 Chip Programmer Tool
Correct!! I suppose that this device was already activated. After I changed the Serial number to a compatible one as you suggested in the early posts went smooth to bypass the MDM, but can't reach the activation server of apple.. so my guess is that the link that it tries to reach is tied to the Serial number in the T2 chip and the serial number in the ROM. I suppose that I must w8 until the release of the jailbreak for Monterey.Last edited by sinaps1; 06-07-2022, 02:16 PM.Comment

There's a photo of a Mac booting into recovery mode which will tell you whether the Mac is on the old bridgeOS version or newer.Comment

by acedogblastThis is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.
There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as... -
by baletakHi,
had T490 with faulty bios chip. Bought chip out of ebay and soldered on. Laptop starts and works however serial numbers of laptop and motherboard do not match.
I have updated laptop model number.
1) I did not find the way to update laptop serial number - I have this one.
2) I dont know where to get my motherboard serial number and how to update it. Is it somewhere physically on the mainboard? How do I update it?
Hope to find someone to help me with this as I am hitting dead end at the moment.
Many thanks

by SMDFleaAdding chip support is quite easy, there`s even some instructions included with NeoProgrammer, although its not obvious where they are
and once you do find them there`s a few crucial steps missing.
Extract chiplist.zip to a folder, the instructions are in Import_EN.txt and in Import.xml .Its the xml file where we add the new chip.
Open Import.xml with notepad or any other text editor. In this example i`m adding a Macronix MX77L25650F SPI_NOR chip.
After adding the chip save the xml file and copy it to the root directory of the...-

Long story short:
- dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
- gave the computer to his son a couple years later
- son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
- too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)
He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8... - Loading...
