by szepesifHey fixers!
I work as a laptop repair technician, and I had to remove the supervisor password from several Thinkpad X390 8th-gen Yoga laptops. The popular autopatcher script is not working for this model. It took me a while, but I created a simple Python script (and an exe file) that removes the password from the EC backup. It doesn't touch anything else, just modifies the necessary offsets and fills the area with 00s. Then you just have to write the modified EC bin file. A few restarts later, the SVP password is gone. The rest is untouched; you will still have all original DMI info....03-06-2026, 10:02 PM -
by DudebromanHello Hello,
I have been browsing the site and gotten so much useful info from here, including extremely helpful boardviews and several other very useful types of information. I am very grateful to this community, as I have actually eeked out a living from buying salvage PC's & Macbooks and repairing them. So, thank you all in advance!
I have searched and found some useful information regarding my issue, but my case is a bit different than the info I'm finding. But if anyone here can give me any useful advice, it would be highly appreciated.

by questoreHi Guys,
I thought I write you a tutorial on how to remove your bios password from your lenovo x390 yoga.
Steps:
1. Get an EC programmer and read the EC firmware.
2. Back up your working EC file !!! (on this modell EC stores all hardware infos and you cannot replace it with others)
3. In your EC firmware file find all of these ranges with a hex editor and replace them with 00:
!!!!!! IMPORTANT THAT YOU ONLY MODIFIED THE SPECIFIED RANGES AND NO MORE.
(I have used HxD Hex editor FREE for this since I found that it is easy to replace ranges)

by OntarioTLI know this is more for laptop help, but a Lenovo Legion T5-28IMB05 Desktop (Lenovo) - Type 90NC was dropped in my lap and it appears to have a BIOS supervisor password I cannot remove.
I have tried the clear CMOS and pulled the battery with no luck. I'm hoping its in the BIOS and not the Nuvoton NCT6686D.
If someone can look at the BIOS and see if they can help me remove the password I would greatly appreciate it. Or confirm the password is in the Nuvoton which I guess I wont be able to defeat it.
