Samsung NP350E update BIOS with dead battery

    Hello
Samsung NP350E I need to update the BIOS to the latest version, but I have a dead battery and the application does not release me due to low battery level. Is there any way around it?
    Regards!

Is your motherboard part number lA-8861p ,if it is you can short pin 5 (+3VL) to pin 6 (gnd) or 7 (gnd) with tweezers on the battery connector during the update.Keep the pins shorted until the bios/micom is updated and the laptop shuts down, then release the tweezers .Go into the bios at startup and check if its been updated, and reset to bios defaults.

EDIT: Remove the battery first !

Thanks for Your replay. Before you wrote back to the post I reprograming BIOS with the programmer.
For the future, to simulate a connected battery (also in other laptops) I have to short the + 3VL pin with GND on the battery connector?

No not all models. Some bios updates include an *.ini file that can be modified to disable the battery check, or can be forced to update using command line switches /nodate /force ,it all depends on the type of bios. You have to do a little research for each one .

I discovered the /SKIP_CHECK_POWER command-line switch by running strings (linux) on the manufacturer bios update .exe file and looking for any useful switches. Using this switch successfully bypassed the check (passed through an admin cmd terminal) on an old NP600B5B laptop which otherwise complained instantly at the >30% requirement message. May work on other older Samsung models too... I also found older Samsung models will only play nice for bios updates in a Windows 7 environment. No luck with 10 or later... These bios updates can be critical - in the case above, "SATA Gen 3 Mode Enable" appeared in the updated bios - massive speed difference afterwards...

Cheers Pingaroon - that option just helped me bypass a battery check!

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
              by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
              by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)
              by akwky
              Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns - Complete Black Screen - Only video on live usb
              by iZakre
              Hello everybody!

To put you in context I recently replaced the battery from my HP Pavilion 15 bc400ns with a used one, everything was going good. The same day, I decided to update the BIOS, everything went good. The thing occurred after I let the battery drain iddling on Windows 11 for the second time to calibrate it that the screen did not turn on again, the computer was on but the screen did not turn, like it would not wake from hibernation. I decided to restart the computer but got no video.

The thing is that I had installed TeamViewer and could log into the computer...

I need a BIOS dump for the Samsung S49CG934SU monitor
              by Habble7
The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.

              Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

              Troubleshooting Attempts:
