    Re: ECS laptop ed20pa2 bios password

    Just cycle the power until you get a code with the characters that you already have.

    Yes, the 1 at the end is always there, is the character that corresponds to NUL as the end of the string.
    CODE\0

            Re: ECS laptop ed20pa2 bios password

            Just reboot and obtain a different code that does not include the "J" character.

            EDIT: It's probably your keyboard layout, as all passwords are calculated for a US QWERTY keyboard and the computer you are trying to unlock may have a QWERTZ German keyboard, I believe that's the reason.

              Re: ECS laptop ed20pa2 bios password

              Hi AAAC,

              i have reboot and reset the passwords...
              and the QWERTZ Keyboard by me is the Reason for the "incorrect" J Character... it's not a Y, it's a Z by me ;-)

              Thx so much for your help and work...

                                Wanted to say thanks for the passwords, really helped me just now to get rid of an accidentally set password in an EJ20GM school notebook.

                                I made a small script in Lua for this, in case I end needing it in the future, and wanted to share it as well to any interested:

                                Code:
                                local map = {
                                  ["A"] = "L", ["B"] = "K", ["C"] = "J", ["D"] = "A", ["E"] = "I", ["F"] = "U",
                                  ["G"] = "F", ["H"] = "I", ["I"] = "U", ["J"] = "Y", ["K"] = "O", ["L"] = "I",

                                      Hi everyone,

                                      I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

                                      I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

                                      After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

                                      I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...

                                      [REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
                                      by zenius
                                      Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

                                      Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                      Lenovo laptop does not turn on, what does this number mean in a BIOS chip?

                                      Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.

                                      I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.

                                      The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a...

                                      HP Omen 15-dh0052nf power-on & bios password

                                      Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

                                      My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

                                      Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....
