    Asus X441UA Admin password

Hello Guys, I'm back. I really have zero knowledge on how to modify or edit bios file/bin. So I hope you guys can help me once again.

I have here an Asus x441ua-ga081t (i3-7100 variant) with a failed hard drive. So owner bought a Sata SSD for replacement. Unfortunately, laptop wont boot to any usb device. When entering bios, it's asking for password. I can enter uefi bios by pressing just enter or leave it blank on password screen.

I immediately notice that I'm just a guest or a user because most of the options are greyed out. I cannot even change boot sequence. I also checked "SECURITY" tab and it shows the "ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD STATUS" is Installed. So at this point I knew that bios needs to be modified.

Owner explained that he can still boot to old hard drive but it is very slow and hard disk sentinel shows failure status. He also mentioned that a month back asus winflash updated his bios to version 324. Upon searching the net I don't see this version of his bios. 316 is the latest that I found.

I uploaded bios file from chip w25q64fvsig. This is a working one but with admin password installed.

Another thing, the Alt+R or rescue password method no longer works with this model. Thanks very much. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

      Re: Asus X441UA Admin password

Thanks very much for the fix peste. It worked perfectly. I can now modify options in bios and even select boot device order. The Admin security status shows "not installed". Now I can reinstall windows on this device. Thanks again! Cheers

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

        TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" Bios Password Problem?
        by traxformania
        Hello,

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

        I tried :

-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...

        HP Omen 15-dh0052nf power-on & bios password
        by Nopslide
Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....
