    Greetings .
Can someone help me fix the bios on lenovo Thinkpad P50 type 20EQ-S20D00.
With the original bios, the laptop cannot turn on at all, and does not turn on any lights. With a bios dump from another laptop (same type), everything works normally, the only thing that is problem is a delay in turning on the screen for about 20 seconds after pressing turn on button.

Hi, I have a ThinkPad P50 I bought used on eBay, with an invoice from the seller. The seller doesn't know the password, and I need to remove the BIOS password. I have the CH341 flasher purchased from Amazon along with the 8-pin clamp. Can you tell me how to extract the BIOS and then decrypt it?
I also need to identify the correct chip to read.
                      MB model: bp500 nm-a451 rev 1

                      Thank you for your attention

                        Hello,

I need help removing the Supervisor Password from a Lenovo ThinkPad P50.

                        **Laptop information:**

                        - Model: Lenovo ThinkPad P50

                        - Motherboard: BP500 NM-A451 Rev. 1.0

                        - BIOS chip: Winbond W25Q128BV (16MB, SOIC8)

                        - BIOS dump size: 16,777,216 bytes (exactly 16 MB)

                        **What I did:**

                        1. I successfully read the original BIOS using a CH341A programmer with a SOIC8 clip.

                        2. I used lenovo_autopatcher 0.2 to create a patched BIOS.

                        3. I successfully uploaded the patched BIOS to the chip (verified using NeoProgrammer).

                        4. The laptop turns on, but nothing is displayed on the screen

                        **Current behavior:**

                        - Power LED is on (green)

                        - LEDs on the keyboard are flashing (NumLock, CapsLock, Mute, Speaker)

                        - Fans spin for a few seconds, stop, then spin again after 30 seconds

                        - Fans run for about a minute, then stop

                        - No display output (black screen)

                        - No POST beeps

                        **What I've tried:**

                        - Waited 5+ minutes for boot

                        - Checked all connections (RAM, LCD cable, SSD)

                        - All components are connected correctly

                        - Wi-Fi card is NOT installed (missing)

                        **Question:**

Can a missing Wi-Fi card prevent a patched BIOS from booting?

Or is there a problem with the autopatcher for this particular model?

I have the original BIOS dump backed up and can restore it if necessary.

                        Could someone please help me:

                        1. Create a working patched BIOS for this model, OR
                        2. Advise what might be causing the boot failure

                        **Attached files:**

                        - original_bios_locked.bin (16,777,216 bytes)

Thank you very much for your help!

Hello you can try this new build file ...
In your original file is this error in UEFI Tool 72 ...
FfsParser::checkProtectedRanges: Phoenix protected range [A30000h:E70000h] hash mismatch, opened image may refuse to boot

That could be a possible error; unfortunately, I don't know for sure either.
It doesn't appear in my new file.
Just try it; there's not much else you can do unless someone else has a suggestion.

                          Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
                          Initial Findings:
                          • My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
                          • I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
                          • I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
                          Troubleshooting Steps & Conclusions:
                          • I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.

Need Clean BIOS/EC Bin File for Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e - Stuck with 0275 Error CMS

                          Hello everyone,

I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.

This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...

So far I've been a silent reader, but now I need your help

I bought a laptop. The seller said the bios was locked. I was looking for a way to remove this ban.
I then got the CH341A and pulled the corresponding files from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...evices-and-ele...
The laptop was brought in with a BIOS problem and a password. After reading the dump, the information was damaged. I ask for help in the BIOS with a clean ME region. Motherboard 213035-1. Serial number: PW+04e998, Type number: 21c3-0016ge

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 carbon 11th Gen BIOS problem

                          Hi everyone.

I have an engineering sample of a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 11th Gen (TYPE 21HM-2FVT05, S/N PF-40G7CD) with an Intel Core i7 1360P (ES – Intel 0000). Since this is an engineering sample, the BIOS had a massive number of various settings. One day, I was experimenting with the BIOS settings and, after saving them, the laptop stopped booting and played a melody after pressing the power button, signaling error code 0002 (Internal bus error), just like in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...shooting-lapto...

                          Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...
