Reflashed Surface Pro 4 BIOS to remove UEFI password. Now it boots SLOW
I have a Surface Pro 4 that was UEFI locked.
It worked normally, but you just couldn't get into BIOS without a password.
I stole the BIOS from another identical board and flashed it. I didn't edit the BIOS at all.
Now when I turn it on it takes 30 seconds to get Surface logo (before I flashed it took 1 second)
Then it takes about 15 seconds before you get the Windows 10 spinning dots. (normally it's almost immediate)
Once it's booted into Windows 10 it runs normally. I have also tried a fresh install of Win 10 since the BIOS flash.
I am not very experienced with BIOS flashing. Was there something I needed to edit in the donor BIOS to make this work correctly? Clear ME?Comment

You should upload original locked bios, get it unlocked and flash that.Comment

I have a clean ME dump for this BIOS. Would that help?
I can't use the clean ME BIOS directly though, because it makes the touch screen stop working. There must be something in the original BIOS that allows touch to function... I somehow need to combine them I think.Comment

Touch works, starts up fast, and no more BIOS password.
Can you tell me how you did it?

Hi guys! So i bought a used Surface Go 2 and it came with a password locked bios.I really wanna remove the lock because they disabled USB booting and disabled SD card which is really weird. I read the forums about the ME tools and fptw but i just cant find one that works for my version of ME. Thanks in advance!

Hey. Sometime ago i bought broken surface pro 4 supposedly it was dead. But turns out it was just a faulty charger. Although when it powered on and after all updates, touchscreen didn't work it also doesn't work in UEFI. On my original bios in device menager it shows yellow triangles on Surface ME and Surface Touch, hid-compliant touchscreen was missing. I already replaced touchscreen and touchscreen board, i've broken the orginal screen when trying to open surface. I already tried diffrent bios files from internet. With the latest one i was able to install the drivers for Surface ME and Surface... -
