    HP Zbook 15 G2 L70 Bios

I was having serious problems with one of the bios' posted here, the only one that included a EC chip file so I've included one I found elsewhere that I modified to be able to flash with an SPI programmer.

I don't remember why, but when I was trying to remove the bios password I thought I had to flash the Bios and EC chip, and the EC chip rom was hard to find.

The one posted here was giving me power problems, the laptop just wouldn't shut down anymore. It would "power down" but leds stayed on and the battery would drain.

The bios posted here should fix that problem. I have the Bios and EC file included.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum!!

    Re: HP Zbook 15 G2 L70 Bios

I could not find the edit button, but the bios I posted was for the original Zbook 15 G1, not G2. Apparently when I purchased a new motherboard for my G2 after melting my damn m.2 slot, they actually sent me a Zbook 15 G1 motherboard. I guess they both fit and are cross compatibile with all the other addons in the case. It explains why I was having so many problems with the G2 bios and the fact that the M.2 slot was now a Mini PCIe. I thought that was weird but thought maybe there were just different versions. Anyways, this is a working G1 L70 bios, G2 is M70. Bios version is like 1.06 from 2013.

      🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
      by macabook
      Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
      🧩 Initial Issue
      • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
      • External display (HDMI) shows

      BIOS problems, cannot start.
      by Jockel
      Question for the technicians
Error during boot. No hard drive, no USB boot possible. BIOS opens normally, all media are displayed. I have tried everything and cannot access the hard drive via boot installation media, e.g. USB Win 11. The system simply stops and the screen remains dark. I reset everything to factory settings in the BIOS menu using the F9 and then F10 keys in order to perform a new installation, e.g. Win 11. The hard drives are clean and formatted with NTFS.
The USB and hard drive boot on other devices, but not on this notebook.
All USB drives and hard drives are...

      ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
      by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
      Some issues
      A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

      Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
      by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...
