HP Elitebook 840 G6 Admin PW Help
Hi everyone,
I have an 840 G6 laptop with admin password.
I have read the BIOS (32MB) and ran HP Unlocker over it, but the admin password is still there.
I have done this before on an 840 G5 without issues, but it's not working on 840 G6.
I have read on this forum about 32MB and 16MB BIOS chips. Where is the 16MB chip?
I have included a photo of the chip which I read from.
I have also included the original dump, and the unlocked dump which didn't' work.
Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

But the problem I am having is that I have taken a dump of the 32MB chip and scrubbed it, but it doesn't work. People tell me there is a 16MB chip I need to dump, but I can't find it. Where is the 16MB chip?Comment

That's what I did. In 1st post I posted both the original and scrubbed 32MB dump, but there is still bios pw on it.
In 2nd post, people say I must find the 16MB chip too.
Are you saying I only need to program 32MB chip only?Comment

the laptop has two bios, one of 32MB and one of 16MB ... if you don't rewrite both of them you won't get rid of the password ... look for the second bios chip (16MB, it can be on the other side of the motherboard) , and write it with what I sent ... don't forget to make a backup copy of the 16MB chip before writing it ..Last edited by SMDFlea; 04-07-2023, 01:46 PM.Due to a lack of donations, server free space at a critical level, and possible closure of Bios Requests all donations are welcome, click:

I am unable to find the 2nd 16MB bios chip. I have taken the board out and looked on the other side but can't see anything which looks like a 16mb bios chip.
I have included a picture of the other side of the motherboard. Can you help with locating the 16mb chip?Attached FilesComment

U366 must be the second chip. Can't see the markings but looks like that.

I think you're right. The chip is IC25LP128 so it looks like the 16mb chip.
However there are no exposed feet/pads, so I can't solder wires onto it. I don't want to remove the chip to read/program it. Very annoying.

i need some help :-/
i deleted in Bios the Admisnistrator password with old password, but after it didn't allow me to modify the User password. Now i can't boot, enter the bios or do anything. It asking at boot for password, old password don't work...
Could you please remove all password related stuff from this bios. A hate Asus....

Just wanted to ask is it possible to remove admin user accounts on Mojave when you do not have the admin password for the account you want to remove? We have our own account setup as an admin but the customers setup their own also as an admin.
We have a loaner A1708 we leant to a customer while we were repairing her A2442. Customer decided she would setup her own account despite me setting up an account for her. We obviously do not have her password and unfortunately, she cannot remember what password she used so now we have a second admin account we would... -

I have a MacBook Air 13 inches 2014.
I have set a EFI password and I can't remember it : now I want to reinstall macOS and I can't because the MacBook is asking for the password.
I know how to remove the password with a usb programmer.
I plug the usb programmer to the motherboard and to my pc with usb, I read the EFI and I save it to a file.
Then I have to find this value in the file : $SVS because it indicate where is the password.
But I can't find the value.
