HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit

Hello! I downloaded "NbDmiFit-2.13", "NbDmiFit-2.14.1" and can't find the file "NbPcEfi.efi". I need it to change the text in the BIOS fields on the 13th and 14th generations of Intel via UEFI, because the program that is in the archive cannot work with new versions of HP BIOS. Is it possible to get this file somewhere or is there another way to solve my problem? Thanks in advance to everyone. -
Thanks. I did try with the Rufus, but no lucky. In the meantime i did manage to extract DMI from bricked Bios to new one, and fix the problem.
I will save your post on my laptop in case if i need it some other time.Leave a comment:

I tried to make bootable usb with nbdmifit, but i just can't do it. I'm stuck on that first step to make it bootable and usable. I can't find way to get to the point where i can start writing laptop serial number etc. I didn't find anywhere detailed tutorial from step one to the end.
Can somebody guide me how to extract DMI from mine not working bios? Then i can insert that part in the working bios that i downloaded here from the forum. BTW laptop that makes me headache is HP Probook 640 G2. I did found working bios, but just with bad, or missing DMI infos. How can i recognise DMI part in the bricked bios? I will upload that bad file here. Thanks.
Regarding your problem with creating bootable nbdmifit tool.
Try this.
This will erase all data on the USB drive.
1. Plug in USB stick that will be used for this tool, make sure that you copy everything from it as it will be reformatted.
2. Open DiskPart on windows 7 or newer, WinXP wont be able to see USB stick. (in windows 10 or 11, press WIN+X, then A and in terminal type diskpart and press enter)
3. List available disks (cmd below)
list disk
Find your USB stick by its size (e.g., Disk 1, 16GB)
4. Select your USB disk
select disk # ← Replace # with your USB disk number
5. Clean the disk (removes all partitions)
clean
6. Create a new primary partition
create partition primary
7. Select the new partition
select partition 1
8. Format the partition as FAT32
format fs=fat32 quick
9. Make the partition active (for BIOS bootable USB)
active
10. Assign a drive letter
assign
11. Exit diskpart
exit
Also you can use "Rufus" if above method is too complicated. but it must be FAT32 formatted in the end.
Copy files on it, into a root of USB stick, and you ready to go.
Regarding your Bios i did use UEFITool A70 to extract GbE region and ME region and replace it in one that i found on this forum as "Clean" using UEFITool 0.28.0
I attached both files in this post. Clean and Clean Moded with your GbE and ME regions, Most likly SN will be different to one you had originaly, but I'm guessing you will be able to change that using tool from USB stick.
Good LuckAttached FilesLeave a comment:

Hi, I have a problem. I changed the motherboard of my HP zbook fury 15 g7. The original was an intel i7 and now it has an intel i9.
The machine was locked with that i7 processor to the name of some American company. The logo of that company came up on the windows login screen and I should have known the passwords.
Now I changed the motherboard to an i9 model. Can I copy all the data from the previous i7 motherboard to that i9 motherboard or will it still register to the name of some company when I try to log into windows?Leave a comment:

Hi everyone,
If I understand correctly there is no other way to unlock MPM, beside using SMC.bin file while booting and file is no longer available to get officially from HP.
My laptop 8460p wont accept HPset152 program (unless doing it wrong), won't remove password from bios (know the password) by using program to generate removal exec file (DOS running, error 0x89 or variation of it). Using HP config (in windows) won't enable MPM, in EFI will read setting but won't write them.
I will attempt now dump bios into a file and use Unlocker, but that only will remove password if correctly understand what program does.
Let me ask this then, did anyone had a 8460p bios or other maybe that it was dumped when was MPM locked clean (factory settings etc) and then unlocked with SMC.bin and dumped when was MPM enabled?
Or does anyone know where it need to be changed value in a dumped to get that result?
Thank you for any help given.Leave a comment:

hello
over the years i collected some versions of DMI tools for hp
and i wanted them to be all at one place
take note that some version are not correct (limited information, missing readme etc)
for some laptops you need older, for some newer but there is plenty here
also, you need to use this tool in dos
and there is Manufacturing Program Mode Error solution here since it is related to bios programming
enjoy and remember to share versions you have or related fixes

by tsavpynDear all,
I forgot my BIOS password of my Surface Pro 3, I searched for solutions for a long time and knew that by using FPT to dump my bios to bin file and using decryptor, I can get my BIOS password.
Now I have a problem that I am unable to dump my BIOS into bin file.
My Surface Pro 3 currently runs on Ubuntu 22.04, with Secure Boot enabled and Boot From SSD Only.
I searched for FPT but there is no Linux version and none of them work.
I hereby request a copy of Intel Flash Programming Tool for Linux x64.
I would really appreciate it if anyone...-

by tony359HI all,
I am working on some boards where all 100+ SMD caps have to be replaced (yes, they actually went bad!). I found a workflow to remove them comfortably (two irons, pre-heater and extra hot air for larger ones on ground planes).
When it comes to soldering them back, I add solder to one pad and then I use a plastic tweezer to keep them in the right place while I solder that leg.
The tweezer works - but I was wondering if there is a more "dedicated" tool or whether someone has a better idea. If it was for a bunch of caps then who cares. But because... - Loading...
