hi guys! thank you for all the help.

I needed to ask if this motherboard requires an EC firmware incase the I/O controller is replaced or it reads it from the main bios.

see if the I/O chip is programmable, or not... if it is programmable, it definitely needs EC bios.. here on the site you can find data about programmable and non-programmable I/O chips..

I've used it too with CH431A programmer, the laptop I've found in the trash is now alive again. 😉😁
Just one info about, the BIOS was edited to delete all the personal info about the original owner, I guess, but are those info needed somehow or I can leave it "invalid"?
Also, the bios is not recognizing the external RAM (4gb ram stick) but only the soldered one, but this may be a problem on the ram stick.
                        Thanks!

If you saved a backup before flashing the bios the DMI should still be in your backup

I did it, but looks too corrupted.
Anyway, about the RAM, I was mistaken, I've cleaned the contacts and now works.

hello! I've succesfully replaced and flashed my EC (thanks a lot btw), but now the fan runs at full speed and never stops (except obv. when powered off). This laptop came to me not powering on, had to replace EC, pmic and reflash corrupted system bios (I have the original dump). Any hints?

first of all thanks peste. I should have taken more care in my description of the problem

                                Here's the data:

                                http://support.lenovo.com/qrcode S/N:PF0QUJXF MO:PF9XB7407059 MTM:80ST0087AR

I should add some observations i made:

1- This MB works just fine except for the fan speed problem? Loads windows and everything else.

2 - The fan starts at slow speed and then accelerates when entering boot selection

3 - The signal EC_FAN_PWM starts modulating ok, and then goes to 3v at the time detailed in point 2 and stays there

4 - I dont know what to expect in EC_FAN_ANTI

5 - related to 4, I have yet to search info about 5 wire fans

                                thanks again

hi there, badcaps web rejected the bin format, I see you uploading as .rar, will do the same with the original bios. I dont know if I understand what to do with yours. I can tell you that I've already downloaded that bios from the lenovo site, and updated it within windows. In the process it updated the ec bin too.

So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...

                                      Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 Desktop - Corrupt BIOS

                                      Hello there.

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

                                      History:

                                      1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...

Lenovo IdeaPad U330p Read Bios than Bios Password Remove

                                      Hi,
I want to remove the Bios Password of my Lenovo IdeaPad U330p with the Lenovo autopatcher. I have the CH341A Black and I'm using NeoProgrammer. The Programmer has an LED that indecates when it reads or writes the Chip. When I try to Connect my Programmer to the Bios Chip (Winbond 25Q64FVSIQ) the LED lights up even though I didn't click on Detect botton in NeoProgrammer. If i click on Detect the LED still remains on and NeoProgrammer says "IC not responding".
