Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
@casti3l
Read this other post for the instructions:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...52&postcount=1
Upon powering up, press F1 when it shows LENOVO splash screen, then type 1234 as password and follow the rest of the instructions. If after trying this it still stuck at LENOVO logo, most likely the ThinkPad DOES NOT have the Supervisor Password set, or you can use a locked hard drive for the procedure to complete.Comment

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Hi, this is my first post in the forum, and my situation is the following:
I have a Lenovo Laptop with this features...
Lenovo Thinkpad T460P (Late 2015 ) intel Gen 6th
Motherboard model : BT463-NM-A611-Rev -1.0
BIOS CHIP:
Winbond
25Q128FVSQ-1549
The BIOS has a supervisor password and it is locked. I tried to make a backup with the CH341A using a programmer clamp, apparently it was not done correctly and the .bin file is corrupt (The patch found errors). My question is the following, I hope you can clarify and help me... Can I download a clean/patch .BIN file without passwords for any T460p and flash the IC? Or is it that I necessarily need the original of my BIOS? I await your responses, thank you! Greetings!Comment

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
You don't need your original file to get it working again. And all dumps are without a password. That's because password is not located in bios chips on thinkpads.Comment

Please read the forum rules before posting https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=103570
Use the forum search for "L560" and read some other threads, try and do some research first before posting a bios and assuming it can be patched.Last edited by SMDFlea; 02-22-2022, 12:03 PM.Comment

Re: Remove_SMM... UEFI.
Hello, I have a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 3rd Gen. (20BS) It has a fingerprint lock in bios, if I skip fingerprint check it has a bios password. Don't really know more about the bios setting, since I cannot enter bios even in read-only mode. When I enter 3 incorrect passwords it just restarts. I patched the bios file and used CH341a to write it directly on the chip. I get 5 + 5 beeps and no display. After that, I wrote original bios and it's working the same as before (locked bios). I have attached original bios and patched bios. I think it might be ME Region Lock can anyone help with it?

by DynaxSCHi, i have an ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS board, which had an shorted Z590 chipset. I have succesfully exchanged the chipset to a factory new one, however there is a serious problem with the Intel Management Engine (later on: ME) not beeing activated after the chipset device replacement.
For lower chipset families (on ASUS boards) it worked to program the oldest bios version into the SPI rom, and the bios had activated the Management Engine itself by default - there was a message on the screen prior booting - "BIOS is updating Management Engine ..... . by m3vuvIts a bit of a long tale but i swapped the original hd for a 2tb ssd,i want about 6 bootable partitions,it needs the uefi enabling in the bios,I am ok with that, the issue is i cant convert the drive to gpt when it has data on it,the issue is windows wont install to a gpt drive, there is a utility from hp to install the efi partition on the drive but it runs on windows, its a chicken and egg thing, can anyone explaine how hp did this?,I am pulling my hair out;it seems i need to run the hp uefi tool to make the uefi option work in the bios, but it needs windows to run this that wont install on a gpt...

by CronaxFDHey guys,
Bought myself Surface Pro 4 tablet today on a local craigslist-type website.
I've seen that UEFI was password protected and of course the seller forgot the password, but decided to buy it anyway.
Really needed such a tablet to use with RomRaider to do some logging/tuning on my car.
It has secure boot turned off and boots from USB, so I've formatted SSD and have done clean win10 install.
Works fine, but wanted to ask, are there any real security risks associated with UEFI settings on Surface (remote access etc.)?
From what I've... -
by S70rm7r00p3rHi guys.
I am very new to this business and i have some questions. Maybe someone can help me further.
I have a 2015 Intel NUC NUC6i3SYH and for some internet and office the computer works perfectly. Lately it has been bugging me a bit on and off. Then I saw there is a UEFI update from Intel and I thought if I put it on, the problems might be gone, but unfortunately the update didn't go through. The screen stayed black and after waiting for a while nothing happened, I had to pull the plug at some point. Of course, the NUC then failed to boot!

by hinsech475Hi, I would appreciate your help with the following problem.
I have a Fujitsu laptop AH562 witn a BIOS-UEFI problem since I converted the HDD to a SSD. For more details on the paltop go to the following link:
http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Port...srch=TECHSPECS
After copying the HDD to SSD with ALtiris utility provided with the Kingston SSD and replacing the HDD with the SSD the laptop went into a startup loop with no screen display and only the disk LED flashing twice per second. I waited for approximatly 2h and then stopped the laptop... - Loading...
