Acer TravelMate 7720G problems after bios update

Hi all, I just joined out of despair after I have managed to make this laptop useless.
My sister gave it to me few hours before hard disk failure and I barely managed to backup her data. I then bought a new hard disk and installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, tried to update bios (with the one from official Acer site under win 7 32bit updates) and failed with the unfamous flash.sys error (tried as admin). I decided to move to windows 7 ultimate 64bit only to discover that firmware 1.22 had an error that prevented the correct use of the 64bit features, so I googled a bit more and found out that the bios flash could only be used under windows xp.
I searched for the dos rom files, without any success (yes, lot of people talking about getting the zip with both phlasher and win exe in the past, but not a single option for me).
I decided to try with Hiren's boot cd mini win XP but the bios flash failed with some "power error".
I shrunk my HD and installed XP into the partition, and finally I successfully installed bios 1.35.
My happiness was short, since after that I could not boot into windows XP, nor reinstall it, or load a windows 8 cd for accessing the command prompt (as I did for saving the datas while making the backup).
I just want to fix the mbr for windows 7, or format the hard disk and start installation again, but I cannot understand if the problem is the bios (I can access it and seems to be perfectly working).
Now I'mgoing to try Hiren's cd again, but I would really appreciate your opinion on the matter.

Re: Acer TravelMate 7720G problems after bios update

Hi all, not sure what happened, but I had to go out after booting into the Hiren's CD and when I come back it booted in XP without problem (well, I have a windows0, so maybe some problems were solved. I fixed the 7 installation with the windows 8 dvd and now I seem able to make a fresh reinstall...

Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
      by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)
      by akwky
      Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

      Update bios EFCN58WW to EFCN59WW

Update bios EFCN58WW to EFCN59WW for solving The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter

      I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15imh05a device that I bought used online. It came with a 20V 8.5A 170W charger.

      The BIOS version is EFCN58WW.

When I turn on the device, it displays the message:
"The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter..."

The device rarely charges the battery, and even when it does, it doesn't show that it's charging.

      I've tried

Problems extracting from Dell Bios Update.Inspiron 3793
      by Caimano
I am trying to repair a Dell Inspiron 3793 which has problems with start up, no battery charging and fan not running. I believe the Bios (probably the EC Region) is corrupted.
      The board is FDI45-LAJ091P REV 1.0 A00
      Processor i7 1065G7 with GPU
This MB has 2 Bios Chips (one 8MB and one 16MB chip).
I am trying to reload a new Bios with clean ME region, new main region and new EC region.
I attach the dumps of the 2 chips.
I successfully used ME analyzer to identify ME, PCH and PMC versions and used Flash Image Tool to install ME, PCH and PMC cleaned regions....
