Laptop keeps on restarting with no display but if i remove ram then it does'nt restart. Seems like bios issue.

I have attached my backup(likely defective ). Can anyone fix this??

Hi, can you please post how you replaced the bios (chip) dump? Thanks in advance, BR, Martin

BIOS update failed, got 2 new BIOS chips 32 and 64MB and would like to know how to change?

How do you program these Dump files into the Bios? Does the bios chip need to be removed? Or can these files be flashed within windows with flasher software?

                          Thanks.

Why would you want to flash a dump if your laptop boots to Windows.

But answering your question - no, usually it doesn't have to be removed but you still need an SPI programmer attached to the bios chip. Newer laptops can't be programmed with dump files within an operating system.

Because I have a E531 that someone put a stupid supervisor password on the bios. So now can only make minor changes to the bios settings. I found a flash that would clear out the supervisor password. But sounds like I will need to have a programmer attached which I don't have.

Then buy one. They are cheap. Ch341A only a couple euros and minipro is 10-15 euros I think.

Sorry to be noob, but wich file go in wich IC ? I have CH341A prog.

Initial problem power on/off loop, no screen, fn key light up when power on.

Not completely dead because it respond to FN+R bios recovery mode, but unable to find the way it work, tested wincrisis for phoenix bios but not work.

So far I've been a silent reader, but now I need your help

I bought a laptop. The seller said the bios was locked. I was looking for a way to remove this ban.
I then got the CH341A and pulled the corresponding files from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...evices-and-ele...
The laptop was brought in with a BIOS problem and a password. After reading the dump, the information was damaged. I ask for help in the BIOS with a clean ME region. Motherboard 213035-1. Serial number: PW+04e998, Type number: 21c3-0016ge

Good day. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong topic. I saw somebody selling a Thinkpad E495 with a Ryzen 3500U CPU near me. In the pictures the laptop is running windows 10. I contacted the seller and asked a few questions about upgradability and if it has a bios password on it. He confirmed it has a bios password. I searched through the forum, I found a guide regarding removing the bios password using the autopatcher, I also found a thread with the e495 where people requested help with unlocking the bios password.

                                          I have a few questions:

                                          Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

Lenovo Edge E531 boot option vanished in bios
                                          by Minime_2003
Hi i have a Lenovo Edge E531 with a CPU 2.2GHz (Intel core i7-3632QM) with firmware HEET35WW (1.16) upgraded with Win 10 OS.

Have a issue that my boot menu vanished in bios.
When trying to boot system, screen is just black.
If trying to press F12 at startup the screen is black and all one can see is a blue marker blinking up in the left corner of the screen.

I have tried loading setup default in BIOS, this did not help.
I have tried removing, battery and bios battery and connected both batterys back and then booting system again. but this did not resolve...

                                          Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....
