HP Elitebook 8560p new bios problem.

Changed the bios chip for the pw and it looked ok.

After a while installing windows 8.1 it looked slow in start en restart.
I tried to flash the latest bios which I was not sure it succeeded, so I did it a second time.
The recovery I did with Mazzif way to force update. USB stick and keep Windowskey and B key pressed and push the power button.
Now the system stays in this modus and don't do anything than blinking caps lock and fan at high speed.
Anybody can help how to get out of this?

Flashing the bios s always a risk, i think something when wrong, you can try to reset the mobo, and see what it does.

      Masha Danki pa reaction,
How to reset the mobo? I had it without battery, RTC battery and adapter for a day and as soon the system starts, it jumps into the programming modus. ( same when you hit windowskey and B key, capslock wil blink)

Re: HP Elitebook 8560p new bios problem.

Sorry, I do not have a programmer. I replaced the bios chip again with a new one and it works OK. Only the ID's are missing, where he complains about during Post. Also when starting post, he shows a line stating "Manufacturing program mode set: 6 of 10". And he also does not restart. He closes the programs and blank the screen and than freezes. When you switch off by hand he shuts down.
seems that I got a lot to figure out.
Something I never seen before, is that system screen turns black after a few minutes and can't be retrieved other than a restart.
When you take out the adapter the screen pops back up ???????????????
Tried this with several adapters and it was the same. Installed all the available drivers for this system from HP site and the problem disappeared.

                Hi guys,

If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.

                BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....

                Greetings badcaps community,

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.

                I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.

These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

                I learned that desoldering...

                🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
                by macabook
                Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
                🧩 Initial Issue
                • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
                • External display (HDMI) shows
                ...

                Elitebook 850 G5 BIOS bricked
                by Guest
                Hello,

I have an EliteBook 850 G5. After a Windows update, including a BIOS update, the notebook turns on, but the screen remains black, and the fans spin at high speed—nothing else happens.

I assume the BIOS update failed, so I searched for the BIOS chip.

I found a Winbond chip located between the RAM and the hard drive, which has a size of 32 MB.

However, the BIOS update available on HP's website is only 17 MB in size. I used the update version that was previously installed when the notebook was still working.

                Can the corrupted...
