Lenovo ThinkPad T495s (AMD) - Supervisor Password Removal

Hello, I have a ThinkPad T495s with a Supervisor Password. I tried using an autopatcher, but it resulted in a 0285 Security Error (0285 TCG-compliant functionality-related error). I have restored the original dump and the laptop is working again.

Could someone please patch my original dump correctly to remove the password?

    Model: T495s Chip: Winbond 25Q128 (read with CH341A + 1.8V adapter)

Attached is my ORIGINAL working dump. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the file. The laptop boots fine (NO 0285 error), but I am still unable to enter BIOS.

            Current behavior:
            1. The Password Prompt is still present.
            2. If I press ENTER (blank password) twice, I get a BLACK SCREEN and the system freezes (requires hard reset).
            3. If I type some random password, it triggers "Error 0183: Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI variable". and then sends me to black screen.

It seems the NVRAM/CRC is still mismatched. Can you please check it?

I put the original BIOS in and it works now! no password and boots right into BIOS without anyproblems.

Thank you very much for the help!

Thinkpad X380 Yoga supervisor password removal + Intel ME removal question
                by Badpatch02
Hi all, I'm new here, a few words about myself: CS student, interested in hardware stuff too - tinkering my whole life but with practically no experience when it comes to firmware "hacking".

So I have this X380 Yoga with a supervisor password in place and before doing anything stupid I figured I'd rather ask.
I plan on using the tool from this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...password-remov...

Thinkpad P14s Gen 4, BIOS Supervisor Password
                by badzymandiaz
I have a laptop that was purchased second-hand, and I am able to boot Windows on and extract the BIOS dump (ONLY the BIOS region, I was unable to dump anything else due to an FCERR I received trying to dump the other regions) and use normally. However, because the BIOS is locked with a supervisor password, I am unable to use anything else except for Windows, and it has also disabled some hardware features of the laptop itself, such as the fingerprinting module, etc. that I really do wish to use.

I have been digging around for nearly 2 weeks trying to find any mention of the same model...

                Hey guys,

have a laptop here that has a supervisor Password (dump in Attachements).
Before i write the Serial NR.etc i wanted to say that strangely after flashing with 3 different Bios dumps and one from lenovos site
the laptop works but everytime it wants me to type a supervisor password i never set.
I thought the supervisor password is stuck in the ec bios but no it isn't either because after replacing the ec chip from one of another board it still has the supervisor password.
Anyway i wanted to ask what of the two chips is the ec bios because on the left...

ThinkPad T470p – CMOS Checksum Error Persists After Main Battery Removal (even with new CMOS)
                by Genghis_Khan
                Hello everyone,

I’m currently troubleshooting an issue on my Lenovo ThinkPad T470p (Type 20J6) and would really appreciate any insights or solutions.

                Issue summary:

Whenever I remove the main laptop battery and AC adaptor, then place them back, the system gives a “CMOS checksum error” at next boot, and the BIOS clock resets to its default time/date.

However, the RTC works fine as long as the main battery remains attached — even if the laptop is unplugged for hours. Same as I remove the battery while the AC is attached, RTC remains. Obviously,...
