Thank you for your reply. However, my flash memory is 32 MB, while your file is only 16 MB. Are these just the files extracted from the Dell package? I don’t quite understand. The binary file contains data beyond 16 MB. Are you sure it will work ? Is it sufficient to have only the System BIOS information? Also, how can I create a complete binary image from the .rcv or .exe file provided by Dell?

            Best regards,

              hi, there
very strange oem files are 16mb.. I replaced the compressed filed with a new one from dell. Try this one but its still 16mb... I just flashed the same laptop here and it worked fine.
Is the file you posted the dumped one from the actual chip??

                Hello,
Yes oem file are 16MB but full dump is 32MB I think there are not only bios on the memory.
It is a XPS 13 7390 (no touch screen, no 2 in 1) and not a latitude.

In this topic other pepole have 32MB binary and they can be openned with UEFITool NE

But my corrupted file I have some issue

If someone has a full 32 MB dump of the Dell XPS 13 7390, I might be able to fix my laptop. I have already tried using the files XPS 7390 32m.bin and W25Q256FV@WSON8 8X6_20230608_144945 Unlocked.bin, but the laptop remains completely off with no power LED.

With my corrupted binary, the power LED turns white and the keyboard backlight comes on for about 2–3 seconds before shutting down.

My computer is functional (before); I just want to unlock it. Before reflashing, I dumped the BIOS several times and compared the files to ensure they matched. I then erased and attempted to reflash, but it still doesn’t work. I suspect there’s an issue with my dump because the file cannot be opened with UEFITool, which strongly suggests the dump is corrupted.

                          Hello,
Do you know why my nvme is not detected ? is a standard M2 external nvme I try 2 of them and is not detected ?
Laptop boot many time with nmve not detected and after power led is down nothing happen like dead.
If I reflash binary it works again. Memory seems to be modified .

                          Thank you.

I have a Dell XPS 13 7390 (non–2-in-1 model). The BIOS currently shows version 1.4, which seems to belong to the XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 model. However, for my system, the latest correct BIOS version should be 1.29.

Can someone help me replace the current BIOS with version 1.29 instead of 1.4?

                            Thank you.

Thank you it seems better to have a specific topic for this specific model.

I downgrade my bios to V1.29 with bios updater and USB key but its changes nothing my nvme is not detected. Do you have any Idea ? The fix to repair my corrupted binary maybe is not the right due to wrong model ?

Your backup at post 1 has two 16MB bios images, one after the other, that`s why there are two flash descriptors.

Memory is not only BIOS we need to keep configuration etc. NVME was not configured correctly, if I adapt configuration of default one It works too.

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

Help with BIOS update on Dell G15 5515 after chip replacement

                                            Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.

The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." I asked my tech guy what he did, and he said he took the chip from another board and flashed it onto mine.

When I check the BIOS using the F12 menu Flash...

Dell latitude 5320 corrupted bios repair
                                            by wwbielsko
                                            Hi,
I got corrupted bios bin file, which way is correct to repair.
File puts errors on Me Analyzer and cannot open in FIT.

To open in FIT I made:
                                            1. Extract MFS and EFS using MEAnalyzer from other bios file with the same parameters
                                            2. put it in HxD to my file
                                            3. MEAnalyzer shows 1 error after that
                                            4. file opens in FIT

                                            and:

                                            A:
                                            1. extract current dell bios on website
                                            2. put System BIOS with BiosGuard v1.30.0.bin using FIT
                                            3. MEAnalyzer OK no errors
(this version shows only logo at bootup - freezeing)...

                                            Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...
