ROG Ally Handheld RC71L BIOS Password

Hi there! This went out on rent and came back with a BIOS password. I don't want to throw it away and would be happy to donate for assistance. The label is as follows:

    RC71L-ALLY.Z1_512
    SN: R9NVKD020696367
    CN: 7H45

    Any help is absolutely appreciated!

You should wait for him to post the backup file before doing so, to get the DMI into the new file.

post merged...next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..

my apologies i hadnt realized i posted incorrectly i will try to be more aware in the future.

the device i am having issues with is the "asus rog ally z1"(non extreme)
the issue im having is that i received it second hand with a corrupt bios, upon dumping the bios it was lacking the data for me to transfer to a new/fresh copy and im having trouble locating the proper bios file as well as how to add my device info to it without being able to pull the dmi data from a backup

my device info is as follows

                model# RC71L-ALLY.ZI_512
                serial# R8NVKD01535633G
                cn# N03F
                P/N# 90NV0GY1-M003X0
                mac# CC5EF883D4A3
the number printed on the motherboard is NR2301L_MB and below it it says R2.1

and im not sure if its important but there are stickers inside the case that have the following string printed on them CTC230711PLAB29B1
attached below is a backup of what i was able to pull from the chip, (WINBOND25R256JWEQ) it is missing a lot of data

if i am missing any necessary info please let me know and i will update

25R256JWEQ is 1.8V chipset, read it again. If you use CH341A you have to use a 1.8V adapter, for others set VCC to 1.8V

hello thank you for the clarification i do really appreciate it, i have made sure to use a 1.8v adapter with my CH341A yes, and ive tried it with other chips from other devices to make sure its working properly and does seem to be reading properly.im not sure how the bios file became as corrupted as it is. the output seems that it is the correct file size but missing lots of data, but the chip itself does seem to be alive and well as its being properly detected with my flashing program and consistently pulling the same file data from the chip

write this file, power on laptop, if starts load defaults, save, power off and read again bios chipset. After that we'll be able to write DMI.

ive flashed the file, it didnt boot to bios it just hung on the rog boot logo this is somewhat of an improvement though as it was just bootlooping or booting to black screen before. i dumped the bios after flashing and attempting to boot to bios this is what it returned

something preventing your machine to boot. Take out ssd, wifi, wwan, replace RAM or move it to another slot, etc.

They are soldered to the board, it won’t boot without the dmi this is the issue I’m having

Gotcha I may just have misunderstood then it doesn’t seem like there’s a ton of clear and direct info on these. I’ve tried with no ssd installed but still same issue
