    Lenovo E585 corrupt BIOS

Issue: Windows Update pushed a broken BIOS update to the machine, resulting in a total lock up during BIOS update and bricking of the machine (no screen output, CAPS lock permanently on, only fan turning and power LED on). If anybody could help with getting the machine back up and running i would be extremely grateful.

    Details as follows:-

    Make/Model: Lenovo/E585 (Laptop)
    Type: 20KV-CTO1WW
    S/N: PF-1PFYB3 19/04
    BIOS chip: Winbond 25Q128FWSQ 1844

Dump of corrupt BIOS attached as zip.

Thank you so much shiyab!, works a treat!, so in order to follow the philospoy of 'Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime' can you tell me what you did to get a working bios?, i understand there are certain values which need to extracted from the corrupt bios, such as serial, mac address, security etc, so how did you do this, i tried to use UEFITool and beyondcompare to compare the corrupt bios vs a E55 bios is saw earlier posted on here but the diff was too much for me to make any sense out of it.

LOL I'm assumng by that comment the steps involved are lengthy and require a lot of experience, if so then fair enough, i was after the basic steps of how it's done, but if it's a lot to document then don't worry about it, i shall just happily eat my fish and be happy :-).

Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 Desktop - Corrupt BIOS
            by grimacelord
            Hello there.

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

            History:

            1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
            by Wahaz
            Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

            Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15-AST 81D6 BIOS Recovery
            by jendkkd jeje
So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2523nd - Dimm2 slot disabled after corrupt bios repair? Advice requested.
            by Bloodhoundje
            Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...

Lenovo ideapad 3 15ARH05 corrupt bios settings
            by techcraze
Hello good day. Long story short. i unlocked the bios using SREP and switched the setting "Special display features Enable/Disable HybridGraphics" from "HybridGraphics" to "disabled"

this has bricked the laptop. it does not boot on internal or external display...

i have tried flashing known good roms from both lenovo and other forums and reflashed it to the chip.

but still no boot. the device turns on and cpu heat's up. but no post/boot.

I have attached the dumped corrupt bios.

            The original serial...
