            Hello, I had the same model: G5 KF5-G3US353SH SKU:6554836 S/N; SN23361J007335 .
The laptop starts and can navigate through the BIOS and make changes there, but it can't boot into any OS; it freezes on startup. I tested the SSD, memory, Wi-Fi card, and other components, but those are perfectly healthy. I tried booting from USB, but it still froze. The repair shop said it needs a motherboard swap. Is it a BIOS issue, and how can I solve it? please help, I am a noob.

Is it possible do to it without the need to open up the computer, if so how. If I need to open up the computer, how do I do that. What kind of programmer do I need for it. Also what kind of packaging does this model have, I tried to look it up on google but couldn't find a definite answer.

                    Hello everyone,

I am requesting the full BIOS dump (.bin file) for my GIGABYTE G5 KF5 laptop. The system failed to boot after an interrupted BIOS update and now shows no display. I need the exact BIOS image to reprogram the EEPROM chip and restore functionality.

                    Motherboard details:
                    - Board Code: 6-71-NP520-D02
                    - Manufacturing Model: 6-77-NP50RND2Y0-D02
                    - CPU: Intel Core i5-13500H (please let me know if you need a different variant)
                    - BIOS Vendor: American Megatrends Inc. (AMI)
                    - BIOS Version: unknown (update was in progress)

I have a CH341A programmer and an SOIC8 clip ready. Any assistance or a link to a verified dump would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

                    Best regards,
                    Eduardo Julio

                      Hi again,

Thanks for the support so far.

Here is the information I have:

                      - S/N: sn23321j001265
                      - Laptop: GIGABYTE G5 KF5
                      - CPU: Intel Core i5-13500H
                      - Motherboard model: 6-71-NP520-D02
                      - Manufacturing code: 6-77-NP50RND2Y0-D02

Unfortunately, I couldn't extract the .bin file from the BIOS chip — it seems to be corrupted or unreadable using CH341A. I'm still trying to get a proper dump, or eventually replace the chip if needed.

If anyone has a clean BIOS dump for this model or can guide me through recovering it, I'd be very grateful.

                      Thanks in advance!

The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

                          Thanks for the guidance.

Unfortunately, I currently don't have the tools or skills to desolder the BIOS chip, and my technician only needs the correct BIOS .bin file to try programming a replacement chip.

I wasn't able to extract a valid dump — the chip seems to be corrupted or unreadable via clip.

If anyone has a working BIOS dump (BIN file) for the GIGABYTE G5 KF5 / Motherboard 6-71-NP520-D02 (6-77-NP50RND2Y0), I would be very grateful. I will try again later, but for now I'm just trying to help my technician move forward.

Thank you in advance for any support!

                            Hi everyone,

Thanks for the guidance so far. I understand now that reading/writing the BIOS chip using a clip might not be reliable, and that unsoldering or wiring directly to the chip is recommended.

Unfortunately, I currently don't have the tools or skills to safely unsolder the BIOS chip from the board. I'm working with a technician, and we were able to extract a BIOS file using a clip, but the laptop still doesn't turn on, so it's possible that the dump we got is corrupted or incomplete.

📎 I've attached the file we were able to extract from the chip:

                            https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IMl...ew?usp=sharing
                            [BACKUP NÃO LIGA 6-71-NP520-D02 I7 12GER.bin]

                            Here are the laptop details:
                            • Model: GIGABYTE G5 (2023)
                            • CPU: Intel Core i5-13500H
                            • Board P/N: 6-77-NP50RND2Y0-D02-A
                            • Board version: V2.1
                            • S/N (from sticker): 1TNP50RND2Y0033H2122
                            • MAC (on board): D493902CF305

We're looking for a clean, working BIOS dump for this model, or guidance if this backup is fixable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Hello again, and thank you for your previous support.
I tested the BIOS file provided by the last user, but unfortunately, it didn't work on my laptop.
After flashing it, the laptop doesn't power on at all — no fan spin, no display, no keyboard lights — it's completely dead.

I followed proper flashing procedures using a CH341A programmer and verified the write process.

I believe I may still need the original factory BIOS dump (including EC firmware and ME region), specific to my machine.

My laptop is a Gigabyte G5 KF5, and the motherboard is labeled 6-71-NH5T1-D02B (if needed).

If anyone has the original BIOS dump from a working unit, or even the full schematic/boardview for this model, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you again for your time and help.

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                                      Some issues
                                      A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                                      Things I tried

                                      by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                      Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                                      Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...
