Hello, bbcc sorry for bothering you, I have a zbook firefly 14 G10 as well (BIOS locked, damn Ebay sellers) but it is the AMD version (I think it might be called G10a), would this BIOS work for it? And if it does, should I just flash it like any other "official" BIOS or is there an specific process to follow since this is a modified file? munir100 how did it go for you? Hopefully you've got it resolved, if so, would you please let us know? I'd like to know how you did it. Thank you all in advance.Comment

Oh I think I misunderstood it all, I'm suppose to dump the BIOS right? If so, could this be done through software or those days are long gone and we now need some hardware tools for it?Comment

Thank you, I figured that was the case but wanted to confirm with you all in case I was in the wrong. Looks like I need to dump the BIOS before and then a "friendly neighbor" can try to help
. I've seen some eeprom reader​ advertised as solderless, they have kind of a clip to make contact, would something like that help getting a backup of my current BIOS without unsoldering it? and if so, would it also allow me to write a modified BIOS back to it also without unsoldering it? Sorry for all the question, I'm a beginner in these matters (as if it wasn't obvious enough )

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,... -
