Hello, I took my laptop to a shop and they seem to have flashed a G7 bios to it, and the machine (Being a G10A) hasn't booted since. I even tried buying 2 new chips from a seller on ebay that configured them for me(with a G10A BIOS he told me, and made very sure that that's the machine I have before we made business), the machine is still not booting up, the caps lock LED is on/off about 7 times and it does not boot. The tech that worked on it on its infinite wisdom decided not to back up the Original chips before flashing the wrong (G7) BIOS. I still have the original chips in hand

I read on another thread for a Firefly G8 that we might need to use both files, perhaps is that why we aren't getting them unlocked? I'm attaching my 2 files in case someone might want to take a look at them.https://I read on another thread for...ly-14-g8...

I sent my machine to a shop and they were able to extra info from the BIOS chip and sent it to me, but they actually sent to .bin files, could somebody please tell me which one should I send here? they named it minboard.bin (mainboard.bin?) and ec.bin.

Thank you, I figured that was the case but wanted to confirm with you all in case I was in the wrong. Looks like I need to dump the BIOS before and then a "friendly neighbor" can try to help. I've seen some eeprom reader advertised as solderless, they have kind of a clip to make contact, would something like that help getting a backup of my current BIOS without unsoldering it? and if so, would it also allow me to write a modified BIOS back to it also without unsoldering it? Sorry for all the question, I'm a beginner in these matters (as if it wasn't obvious enough
)...

Oh I think I misunderstood it all, I'm suppose to dump the BIOS right? If so, could this be done through software or those days are long gone and we now need some hardware tools for it?

Hello, I'm from the Dominican RTepublic and I've been tinkering with computer (mainly software tweaks, theming and overclocking here and there back in the Athlon XP days, sadly not so good with hardware modding, but willing to learn ) I just found this forum and it looks like a nice place to be, I'll make sure to visit often. Nice to meet you all!!

Hello, bbcc sorry for bothering you, I have a zbook firefly 14 G10 as well (BIOS locked, damn Ebay sellers) but it is the AMD version (I think it might be called G10a), would this BIOS work for it? And if it does, should I just flash it like any other "official" BIOS or is there an specific process to follow since this is a modified file? munir100 how did it go for you? Hopefully you've got it resolved, if so, would you please let us know? I'd like to know how you did it. Thank you all in advance.bbcc...
