    Hello

Has anyone unlocked the Lenovo X380 Yoga 20lj model? If so, could they suggest which pin they used?

I really want to thank you, because I was worried about two Thinkpad T480s I bought with a supervisor password, but looking for a solution on the internet, I came here, and after two days reading the threads and watching the videos, I figured it out, and now the two PCs are working perfectly. I did it like in the 5th or 6th try.
    Merci beaucoup.

    Hello,

Could you clarify on information in original post regading Mec1663?

    Mec1663 Dmi start from 0x00
    Pwd 0x300 - 0x34F replace with FF

Do I understand correctly that you utilized JTAG to remove the password? Can you describe the procedure?

I wonder if FT232H with openOCD can be used for such approach to remove supervisor password.

I luck exprience in this field and looking if inexpencive JTAG adapter can be used in such situation.

A consultation with ChatGPT indicates that perhaps it would not work as only SWD protocol implemented.

    Thank you

    Yes it's good.
you can use the 4 or 6/8/or 10 with a short shunt with a ground during startup
watch my different videos as an example

    Hey!
Just to inform/confirm it works on X1 Yoga 4th (board FX490, NM-B861, same as X1 Carbon 7th): shorted J5 (which is located o the side of the battery connector), pin 4-6-8-10 (all connected together).

Took some attempts, lost the serial number trying (not big deal) and, as user 64xgeo reported, a weird message where I had to press Z...

All fine and clean now: thanks MaxPower!!!

Yes. I did exactly as I explained here. I tried many times before it worked. Now I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T14 laptop that I bought completely new for 100 usd just for the locked BIOS. NOW IS 🔥.

The pin order is as follows:

    1. Where number 14 is located, that is pin 14. The others in the same line are 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2 (2 is also marked on the motherboard).

    2. Where number 13 is located, that is pin 13. The others in the same line are 11, 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1 (1 is also marked on the motherboard).

    Procedure:

Use a clip to short pins 8 and 10.

Power on the laptop, hold the short for a moment, then release and press F1.

If the keyboard doesn’t work, use a USB keyboard.

Once inside the BIOS, remove all passwords (leave them blank).

Save the changes and reboot using Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
