Hi,
A friend of mine has an HP 245 G9 laptop that was given to him by his school for his studies. He accidentally spilled liquid on the PC and when he turns it on it wouldn't boot up. It displays a black screen which says that the BIOS is corrupted and that it would recover automatically when rebooting the laptop but it still displays a message saying that it can't find the files or they are corrupted. He gave to me to have a look at it. I disassembled it and noticed some oxidized components which I cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. I thought that it would solve the problem but no unfortunately.
I followed the instructions to create a USB flash recovery discc but even that procedure doesn't seem to work (holding both WINDOW KEY + B + POWER BUTTON). It seems that there's no procedure to recover from a BIOS failure (corruption...) if your laptop has HP Sure Start enabled which is the case for this laptop model.
I managed to read a dump of the corrupted bios (it's a 25Q128JWS0 chip) and I have the original one downloaded from HP support and I wanted to know if someone skilled enough could look at it and modify it to see if the laptop can reboot properly.
I can post all the information required.
ThanksComment

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.
I'm trying to reset my bios without success.
I tried :

by CanukTukHello,
Kinda new to this, so hoping you will all give me a bit of a pass.
I came to this forum because need to remove the BIOS password on an HP EliteBook 850 G1.
I understand that I need to dumpt the BIOS to a dump file, process the dump file with RCUnlocker, then write the modified BIN file back to tthe BIOS chip.
Is there a beginner guide anywhere that describes the entire process for doing this?
I am reallly in the dark regarding which tool or tools are required to extract the BIOS dump file, then write the modified BIN back to the BIOS chip. The guides I have...-

by NopslideHello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.
My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).
Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....-
